Available Seniors Spotlight

With schools facing quarantine and shutdown every day, it has never been more important for seniors to get as much exposure as possible. With the Available Seniors Spotlight, we will highlight some talented 2021s that have yet to sign.

6-6 F [player_tooltip player_id="1049931" first="David" last="Giddens"] – Tucker

After playing in the shadows of [player_tooltip player_id="868083" first="Jermontae" last="Hill"] and Terrance Edwards, [player_tooltip player_id="1049931" first="David" last="Giddens"] has displayed a completely different skill set than what he was relegated to over his first three seasons. Known as a glue-guy garbage man inside that did a great job on the glass and scoring putbacks, now the offense runs through Giddens who has expanded his game to the perimeter. Giddens has been aggressive in the offseason and regular season as a slasher. He’s still tough on the boards, but now David can knock down the outside shot when it presents itself. Giddens is averaging 17.5 points through his first 10 games and is making people rethink what his upside may be.

6-1 PG EJ Walker – Stephenson

EJ Walker is one of the toughest guards the state has to offer. He’s a physical lead guard that can pour in points all over. His mid-range game can be devastating at times as he can bump off defenders to get a clean look at the basket. He’s a crafty finisher inside that absorbs contact. Walker has seen the best over the course of his career and has performed at a high level while going toe-to-toe. He’s the type of player that college coaches could fall in love with down the stretch.

6-4 G [player_tooltip player_id="806756" first="Isaac" last="Brito"] – Trinity Christian

Brito is an intriguing prospect for D-II’s and Low Majors. He’s got all the physical traits of a big-time guard. At 6-foot-4, Brito has a unique explosion to the basket when turning the corner and getting downhill. That same athleticism makes him a terrific rebounder and valuable perimeter defender. He’s posting 16.3 points, 11 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. He is still improving his point guard skills and ability to shoot from the perimeter. If he gets both of them fine-tuned, he could be an impact maker at the next level.

6-9 F [player_tooltip player_id="869584" first="Isaac" last="Abidde"] – Westover

With High Major upside, it will be interesting to see what level [player_tooltip player_id="869584" first="Isaac" last="Abidde"] ends up at. He’s a freak athlete with a well-rounded game. Known for his highlight dunks, rebounding and shot blocking, Abidde has included a good-looking outside shot that extends to the three-point line. He has room for growth as a ball handler which could help push him to become a combo-forward at the next level, giving him even more value. Abidde is averaging 16 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.

6-6 F [player_tooltip player_id="869625" first="Derrick" last="Brown"] – Monroe Area

Already a combo-forward with the ability to spend equal amounts of time at both wing and forward, [player_tooltip player_id="869625" first="Derrick" last="Brown"] should be one of the more popular names down the recruiting stretch. Brown is an agile athlete that scores inside and out. He’s got a nice post game and can hit turnarounds off the low block. He stretches the floor and is an accurate shooter from deep. Brown can make plays off the dribble and finish with finesse and power depending on the situation. His length makes him a strong defender that can guard multiple positions and help switch effortlessly when put in ball screens.
