<p>The MLK Classic took place at the Arizona Grand Ballroom from January 16th through January 18th. Hosted by recruiting legend, Gerry Freitas, the event featured grassroots programs from Washington, California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. Several players used this event to get their name out there. In this article, we take a look at the top 10 Sleepers from the event. </p>

<li><strong>Ariya Briscoe</strong> <em>6’0 PG Team Lavine 2021</em> - Explosive with the ball in his hands. Briscoe is a good R&J athlete, willing to do anything to help his team win. </li>
<li><strong>Michael Ajayi</strong> <em>6’4 SF West Coast Prep 2021</em> - Clear cut sleeper. 6’4 long, versatile athlete has yet to play a minute of Varsity Basketball. </li>
<li><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1111518" first="Malik" last="Madison"]</strong> <em>6’9 C Ascending Life 2021</em> - Low post defender, rebounder, and rim protector with good athletic ability. </li>
<li><strong>Louis Halladay</strong> <em>6’6 SF Team Lavine 2022</em> - The kid jumped out at me both live and when I reviewed him on film. Good size, for a downhill, transition finisher.</li>
<li><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1111485" first="Tyler" last="Isaak"]</strong> <em>6’3 SG Team Grrr 2021</em> - Good at every, not great at any type. Guards multiple positions, and produces when he’s on the floor. </li>
<li><strong>Calvin Schmelling</strong> <em>6’5 SG Ascending Life 2021</em> - Versatile wing with a high defensive IQ. High Academic prospect as well, that rocks a 3.9 GPA. </li>
<li><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="775790" first="Niyi" last="Olabode"]</strong> <em>6’5 SF Team Grr 2021</em> - Team Grr certainly has a type. Good at every not great at any type, that defends multiple positions. </li>
<li><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="766849" first="Andre" last="Warren"]</strong> <em>6’3 SG Port City 2022</em> -Sneaky good athlete, that can score the ball. </li>
<li><strong>Matthew Brand</strong> <em>6’1 SG Arsenal 2021</em> <em>(featured image)</em> - The sleeper is in the story, bouncing back and forth between Texas and Cali, forced Brand to miss a high school season last year. However, his consistency as a shooter, makes him an attractive commodity </li>
<li><strong>James Freemen</strong> <em>6’5 PF Cap City Cougars 2022</em> - Pogo stick athlete that relentlessly pursues the basketball. </li>
