As we are hopeful for an AIA season to start now in mid-January, we look at some of the top players in every conference.

We look at more SG’s in 5A.

Here are some sleeper SG’s that will impact their team:

[player_tooltip player_id="1045442" first="Nate" last="Williams"] (Cactus Shadows) (Pictured)

-A skilled guard who can really shoot it. He is one of the main reasons that the Falcons are a dangerous team. He is peaking at the right time in his HS career and they can lean on him to score it.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045525" first="Rashid" last="Smith"] (Arcadia)

-A quick scoring lefty who can put the ball in the hoop from mid to the 3pt line. He has a quick first step to get into the lane and is a sneaky good passer. His speed and skill will be on display all year.

[player_tooltip player_id="809689" first="Coleman" last="Fields"] (Millennium)

-One of the youngest teams in 5A will have one top senior left in Fields. If they will make a deep playoff run, Fields will need to have a big season. He can shoot it off the catch and will bring energy on the defensive end with his nice length.

[player_tooltip player_id="1024121" first="Chase" last="Pavey"] (Sunrise Mountain)

-The senior guard should compliment [player_tooltip player_id="809675" first="Colin" last="Carey"]. He can take some of the load off by scoring it from outside plus getting to the rim with his stronger frame. He is an improving athlete and shot creator.

[player_tooltip player_id="1077530" first="Charles" last="Temple"] (Williams Field)

-Not a well known player like some of their other talented seniors but Temple can play. He is one of the better defending guard/wings and loves attacking the basket.

Steven Legleu 6’1 SG 2021 (Nogales)

-A strong guard who can score it. He avg nearly 20 ppg last year including 33 versus Ironwood Ridge and 29 and 27 versus Buena. He hustles, he can shoot it and get into the lane plus he is a big time competitor and will defend as he avg nearly 3 steals per game.

[player_tooltip player_id="827025" first="Pike" last="Tancil"] (Willow Canyon)

-A versatile guard can play on or off the ball. He can set the table plus score it. He is very strong and will defend his position and plays an unselfish type of team game.

[player_tooltip player_id="1049922" first="Jake" last="Smith"] (Buena)

-A smart and skilled guard should breakout for the Colts. He can shoot from mid to the 3 off the catch and pull. His IQ is high and he can play on or off the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="936769" first="Cameron" last="Coraggio"] (Horizon)

-A sharp shooter who will be asked to produce more. He is a very good catch shooter with good length and size for the position. He plays a cerebral brand of ball and comes with a high IQ. He smartly moves without the ball to relocate to an open spot.

[player_tooltip player_id="814525" first="KJ" last="Perry"] (Gilbert)

-A top-notch athlete will get some important minutes off the bench. He is a stud on the break and will be able to defend multiple positions. He is best mid and in but a capable deep shooter. His activity on defense and on the break will infuse life into the Tigers.

[player_tooltip player_id="814528" first="Chris" last="Ruiz"] (Kellis)

-Another rare soph on the list will need to step up his game on a very younger team. He is a true sniper who plays with a high IQ and just knows how to play plus he is very efficient.
