<p>The state of North Carolina is quietly approaching the state playoffs in the last week of January. Here’s a look at some prospects in the 2023 class that are climbing up the radar.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="949378" first="Aden" last="Holloway"] | 5’11 Point Guard | Covenant Day School</h5>
<p>Holloway is a high level point guard prospect at Covenant Day that’s slowly making a name for himself in the 2023 class. He’s got the ability to score with efficiency on all three levels and has put that on display, producing 23.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.8 apg and 2.3 spg. He gets after it on both ends and competes no matter the time or score. He’s shooting 39 percent from behind the arc as well with nice range on the perimeter. Winthrop, Virginia Tech and Syracuse have offered him.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1120963" first="Anthony" last="Breland"] | 6’3 Guard | Charlotte Elite Academy</h5>
<p>Breland has flown under the radar this season at Charlotte Elite Academy, but not for long. He’s averaging 28.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.6 spg and 1.9 apg through their first eight games of the 2020-21 campaign. He’s already put up four games of 30+ points including a season-high 37 points against the South Charlotte Thunder back on Dec. 22 in a victory. He also had 11 rebounds, 5 offensive. He’s averaging 2.1 offensive rebounds per contest and is an active downhill slasher on the offensive end. Colleges are already drawing interest in him.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1008884" first="JJ" last="Moore"] | 5’10 Point Guard | Huss</h5>
<p>Moore is an electric floor general that’s fun to watch on both ends for the Huss Huskies. He’s posting 18.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 5.5 spg and 5.0 apg through their first six games of the season to start his sophomore season. He makes things happen in a variety of ways with the ball in his hands and pushes the envelope on the defensive end using his speed and strength. He put up a triple-double with 19 points, 12 steals and 11 assists already against South Caldwell back on Jan. 8. Colleges in need of a gritty guard look no further. </p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1046669" first="Chase" last="Dawson"] | 6’2 Guard | Cary Academy</h5>
<p>Dawson is an emerging lead guard prospect that plays at a high level for Cary Academy and head coach Ishua Benjamin. He’s putting up a team-igh 26.4 ppg along with 3.4 rpg, 3.0 apg and 2.8 spg for the Chargers as they look to improve their status in the Raleigh/Durham area. Dawson makes plays on all three levels that translate to the next level and is shooting 56 percent from the field and 47 percent from behind the arc as a sophomore. He’s a prospect to track early in the 2023 class. </p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="854884" first="Bryce" last="Cash"] | 6’5 Guard/Wing | Charlotte Christian</h5>
<p>Cash is having a productive season at Charlotte Christian as a sophomore in 2020-21. He’s producing 17.8 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.5 apg and 2.7 spg while running the lead guard spot for the Knights. He’s got nice length and a strong frame that he uses well to score in the paint and lead the offensive attack for Charlotte Christian. As he finds more ways to get to the paint and make plays, look for his stock to grow even more. He’s got an offer from Liberty so far.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="854893" first="Isaac" last="Dobie"] | 6’3 Shooting Guard First Flight </h5>
<p>Dobie is off to a fast start to his sophomore campaign for First Flight. He leads the tean in scoring (23.9 ppg) and rebounds (6.3 rpg) and there hasn’t been much drop off since appearing as a freshman on varsity in 2019-20. He’s shooting 55.2 percent from behind the arc, knocking down 3.7 3-pointers per contest. He’s also producing 2.4 apg and 2.0 spg for one of the highest-scoring teams in the state, though they’re rebuilding now. </p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1120962" first="Josiah" last="Watkins"] | 6’2 Guard | Burlington Christian Academy</h5>
<p>Watkins has been a strong piece in the Burlington Christian Academy backcourt alongside [player_tooltip player_id="574410" first="Brock" last="Williams"]. He’s put up 16.4 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.1 apg and 4.0 spg through their first 10 games of the season. He can fill up the stat sheet with his ability to battle on the defensive end and on the glass and likes to create on all three levels. He doesn’t push the envelope with the 3-ball and has a nice feel for the midrange game. </p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1062123" first="Tomir" last="Moore"] | 5’10 Point Guard | Parrott Academy</h5>
<p>Moore is quite the playmaking point guard at Parrott Academy in the 2023 class. He’s putting up 13.9 ppg, 5.2 apg, 3.0 rpg and 1.4 spg through nine games in the 2020-21 season so far. He’s an explosive floor general that uses his speed and quickness well to navigate the defense and finish in the paint. He’s also quite the 3-point shooter, shooting 17-of-44 (39 percent) on the year. He’s a sharpshooting floor general to track in the 2023 class.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1120958" first="Stephen" last="Quinn"] | 6’1 Shooting Guard | Elevation Prep Academy</h5>
<p>Quinn is a rising shooting guard and new name in the state of North Carolina. He’s been a top shooter in the the 2023 class at Elevation Prep this season, leading the charge on the perimeter with 49 made 3-pointers across 19 games this season. He’s averaging 11.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.4 spg and 1.8 apg for his squad, showing he can be a presence on both ends. He’s shooting 37 percent from behind the arc while knocking down 2.6 3-pointers per contest as a sophomore. He’s a sharpshooter worth getting to know in the state.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="998174" first="Nicolas" last="Davis"] | 6’6 Wing/Guard | Elevation Prep Academy</h5>
<p>Davis is a versatile wing prospect at Elevation Prep Academy with a nice skillset for his size at 6-foot-6. He’s producing 13.0 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.7 spg and 2.2 apg for his squad in 2020-21. He’s shown he can operate on all three levels, shooting 32 percent from 3-point land and 44 percent from the field. He uses his length and athleticism to attack off the bounce in a variety of ways and has a ton of room to develop on both ends.</p>
