Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look from some of the top standouts from Tuesday Night’s holiday tournament action.

[player_tooltip player_id="984508" first="Braden" last="Appelhans"] 6’6 Blue Springs: The 2022 lefty marksman scored 20 points and made four 3-pointers in the Wildcats 62-59 overtime victory over Kearney in the semifinals of the William Jewell Classic. The fourth 3-pointer came as time expired in overtime to give his team the victory. He is a potent three-level scoring threat who is also very efficient.

Josh Barlow 6’3 Hollister: The 2022 guard had 33 points and seven rebounds in a 68-39 victory over Conway in the semifinals of the Walnut Grove Tournament. He is a versatile scoring threat with a nice 3-point stroke, a solid drive game and good movement off the ball. He has been putting up some big numbers this season.

Elijah Whitley 6’2 Parkview: The 2022 guard scored 18 points in the Vikings 62-29 victory over Willard in the quarterfinals of the Blue & Gold Tournament. I watched the first half of the game and he was on fire from 3-point range with four treys, leading a barrage of 11 3-pointers in the first half by Parkview.

[player_tooltip player_id="824190" first="Hasani" last="Spann"] 6’1 MICDS: The 2021 guard scored 14 points and made four 3-pointers in leading the Rams to a 54-38 victory over Kirkwood in the championship game of the MICDS Round Robin. Hasani enjoyed an excellent three-day tournament with his consistent stroke from 3-point range.

[player_tooltip player_id="1070096" first="Evens" last="Appolon"] 6’9 Father Tolton: The 2023 post player scored 13 points in the Trailblazers 52-49 victory over Helias at the Machens Fantastic Four in Jefferson City. He is one of the most improved players that I’ve watched. He’s still new to the game, but he had a dominant stretch in the first half where he controlled the paint with his power moves, rebounding and shot blocking.

[player_tooltip player_id="1070094" first="Kyan" last="Evans"] 6’1 Staley: The talented 2023 point guard scored 17 points in the Falcons 50-46 victory over Blue Springs South in the semifinals of the William Jewell Classic. He is a smooth offensive player who distributes the ball well, but he has the knack for feeling when his team needs buckets and he delivers them in a timely manner.

[player_tooltip player_id="986455" first="Runey" last="Hernandez"] 6’5 Truman: The 2021 wing had 18 points, nine rebounds and a pair of blocks in the Patriots loss to Center in the William Jewell Classic semifinals. He also shot the ball well with four 3-pointers on the evening. He is just a good all-around player who puts in the work at both ends of the court.
