The Sun Bash Miami showcase wrapped up last Saturday at Westminster Christian. The five game schedule featured exciting prospects across the South Florida region. A special thank you to everyone involved in putting the tournament together under unique circumstances. We hope for a great squeal this Friday/Saturday at the Sun Bash Tampa. That event will be held at the Canterbury School. Part two of my coverage will look at additional top performers from that day.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709256" first="Jamai" last="Hager-Tejada"] has been a killer thus far for Mater Lakes. The 5-foot-10 combo guard scored 28 points on 10-of-17 from the field against Westminster Academy. Moreover, Hager-Tejada went 3-of-7 from deep. He has been the most reliable scorer for the Bears, averaging a team-best 17.5 points in four recorded contests. Tejada scored 16 points in two quarters against Dr. Krop on Monday. Hager-Tejada is aggressive getting to the rim and finishes well in traffic. Mater Lakes has played a tough schedule so Hager-Tejada is earning his merit.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829412" first="Andre" last="Bynum"] is a dual-threat playmaker for Miami High. The 5-foot-9 point guard scored a team-best 18 points against North Miami. Bynum was one of the top passers in the country last season after averaging 6.8 assists per game. His guard skills improved as he progressed into his role. Moreover, he teams up well with 2021 wing [player_tooltip player_id="818705" first="Taderrius" last="Davis"]. The Bynum-Davis combination is a luxury for the Stingarees.

2021 [player_tooltip player_id="818731" first="Kameron" last="Johnson"] was one of the better frontcourt performers during the Sun Bash event. The 6-foot-7 power forward has a physical frame and was constantly finding himself around the rim. Johnson scored 28 points in the victory over Miami Country Day. His burly size makes him tough to deal with in the paint. Make no mistake, Johnson can move his body and has good footwork for his frame. He combined with 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="955591" first="Justin" last="Johnson"] to score 60 of the Firebirds 79 points. The Johnson brothers are the engine that make Doral Academy go.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="962427" first="Koree" last="Cotton"] is a player to watch for South Miami. The 6-foot-5 Cotton has good size as a combo guard. Cotton can use his frame to overwhelm opponents at either position. Furthermore, his length gives him an advantage with his shooting touch. Against Keys Gate, Cotton scored 12 points and went a perfect 3-of-3 from deep. He pairs well with fellow 6-foot-3 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id="953073" first="Christian" last="Pujals"]. Cotton dropped 15 points in the Sun Bash against Westminster Christian.

2022 Sal Stewart has helped Westminster Christian to a 4-0 start. The 6-foot-3 guard/forward scored 13 points in the Warriors victory over the Cobras. Moreover, Stewart knocked down four 3-pointers against South Miami. He has helped Westminster Christian to a +72 point differential through four contests. The Warriors have a nice mix with Stewart and 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="548997" first="James" last="Henderson"] on the interior.
