Big Dakota Conference Basketball will excite this winter with Chamberlain bringing back a load of talent but others battling heavily.

Conference Commentary

Chamberlain - Cubs return their top players from a team that finished .500 a season ago. Won four of their last six las year.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte - Three games above .500 last season but the Braves lost four starters so there will be a learning curve breaking in new talent.

Crow Creek - Only two players return from the rotation of last year’s 21-2 team. [player_tooltip player_id="975559" first="Trevin" last="McBride"] will be a top player but the rest of the rotation/team will be inexperienced leading to some uncertainty.

McLaughlin - They improved a lot as the year moved on and return two of their top players (Sims and Defender).

Miller - Winless last season, still in a rebuild. Young talent like Spencer Fernholz were allowed to grow and they will, but more time is needed before consistently competitive.

Mobridge-Pollock - Three starters must be replaced but this 16-8 team from last year has two sets of twins that should push them back to a similar spot.

Stanley County - With two of their best players back the Buffs should become a double figure win team.

Todd County - Losing six of their top seven to graduation will be very tough when the Falcons try and match last year’s success.

Winner - [player_tooltip player_id="975500" first="Brady" last="Fritz"] returns, but little else does for Winner’s 16-win club. Brady will keep them in contention of course but with five key pieces needing to be replaced it will be interesting to see how potent they are again.
