The SEC Red, for a number of years now, has been one of the top basketball conferences in the state. The conference, this season, will consist of Ann Arbor Pioneer, Ann Arbor Huron, Ann Arbor Skyline, Saline, Monroe and Temperance Bedford, and Ypsilanti. There are a number of very talented players to watch in the SEC Red. Let’s take a look at the players in the conference that are currently ranked by Prep Hoops Michigan.

[player_tooltip player_id="611420" first="Julian" last="Lewis"] (2021, SG, Ann Arbor Huron)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #7

The William and Mary commit is the pride of Ann Arbor. He’s a defensive wizard on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id="811099" first="Devin" last="Womack"] (2021, CG, Ann Arbor Huron)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #14

Womack is the top ranked of a trio of River Rats that will be playing at Lake Superior State after high school. He’s a creative finisher at the rim that displays solid body control.

[player_tooltip player_id="611465" first="Kingsley" last="Perkins"] (2021, PF, Ann Arbor Huron)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #47

Perkins is River Rat number to that will be on his way to Lake Superior State. He’s a shot blocker and rim protector down low.

[player_tooltip player_id="811116" first="Chris" last="Cayton"] (2021, PG, Ann Arbor Skyline)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #52

[player_tooltip player_id="811116" first="Chris" last="Cayton"] has finally started to see the offers roll his way, as he’s deserved them for a while now. He does a great job controlling the pace and feel of a game.

[player_tooltip player_id="611480" first="Tyson" last="Edmondson"] (2021, SG, Ann Arbor Huron)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #61

Edmondson is the next Huron player that will eventually suit up at Lake Superior State. He’s a lengthy shooter with range that extends beyond the 3 point line.

[player_tooltip player_id="811126" first="Lucas" last="Henderson"] (2021, PG, Ypsilanti)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #77

Henderson is a speedy ball handler. He pushes the pace with the dribble and can beat the defense down the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="969523" first="Dinali" last="DeLoach"] (2021, PF, Ann Arbor Skyline)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #109

DeLoach is pretty under rated at this number. He’s an elite athlete and an electric finisher at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="980066" first="Rasheed" last="Sampson"] (2021, PF, Ann Arbor Pioneer)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #151

Sampson is a strong willed and tough power forward. He flourishes in a physical game and excels with contact.

[player_tooltip player_id="980067" first="Jack" last="Williams"] (2021, SG, Ann Arbor Skyline)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #154

Williams is another player that could argue to be ranked much higher. He’s a shooter at heart that plays with a high basketball IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id="814623" first="Aiden" last="Lee"] (2021, SG, Ann Arbor Pioneer)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #196

Lee is a speedy guard with very good straight line speed. He makes for a real nice secondary ball handler at the 2 guard spot.

[player_tooltip player_id="814643" first="Jack" last="Den Houter"] (2021, PF, Ann Arbor Huron)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #206

Den Houter is way more talented than many people outside of Ann Arbor really realize. I’ve seen him play with and against multiple next level players, where he was the best on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="814659" first="Ashay" last="Arora"] (2021, PG, Ann Arbor Skyline)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #219

Arora is another prospect that should garner attention outside of Ann Arbor. He’s learned from playing basketball with a lot of high level guards at Skyline.

[player_tooltip player_id="863978" first="Cooper" last="Fairman"] (2022, G/F, Saline)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #89

Fairman is going to shock a lot of people here soon. Before an injury prior to last season, he was having one of the best showcase seasons of anyone in the class of 2022.

[player_tooltip player_id="863989" first="Xander" last="Middleton"] (2022, SG, Monroe)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #116

I really like the upside that [player_tooltip player_id="863989" first="Xander" last="Middleton"] has. He has 3 point range on his jumper and the height and length to shoot it over top of the defense.

[player_tooltip player_id="1068139" first="Andrew" last="McCarthy"] (2022, CG, Monroe)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #208

McCarthy has a nice upside as a player. He can play on or off the ball and could have a breakout senior season.
