This past Saturday, Lucky City Pt. 3 took place in Huntington NY. Seventeen teams were able to take the court to make up nine games in one day, for some, it being the first time they were able to get on the court. Now that the event has passed, we at Prep Hoops are able to take a deeper look at what went on, starting with some stock risers from the event.

Zena Edosomwan | NT Elite

Zena Edosomwan absolutely exploded this weekend at Lucky City. Although his team took a tough loss against Go Hard Go Home, Edosomwan definitely demonstrated his potential and his ability to be a leader on the Court. He efficiently shot the three-ball off his dribble, as well as come inside for the midrange or the finish. Edosomwan can also be the number one defender on the court, further increasing his value.

Isaiah Sutton | New Rochelle

On New Rochelle, it’s clear that [player_tooltip player_id="1047682" first="Promise" last="Opurum"] is the main big on the team. However, Isaiah Sutton has quietly been developing as a complement to Opurum, and even being a good big in his own right. Sutton can form a 1-2 in the post with Opurum, and with two bigs, the paint is easily controlled, making the perimeter even deadlier. On defense, Sutton brings an added versatility which he can take from the paint to the perimeter.

Tafari Plummer | Lincoln Park

For Lincoln Park, Tafari Plummer really increased his value at Lucky City Pt. 3. Plummer showed the ability to play as either the number one or the number two scorer. In limited attempts at Lucky City, Plummer showed that his shot has the arc and release that it needs to succeed, while his play on the interior is nothing to brush off either.

Albert Vargas | Real Deal

Albert Vargas has always been a prolific passer. Yesterday was no different, with Vargas earning eight dimes. However, Vargas flashed new offensive skills as well, with him being more agressive. Vargas wouldn’t settle what the defense gives him and constantly drove looking for more.

Jahmier Primer | Heat Elite

Jahmier Primer and Heat Elite were lucky to play in two games this weekend, and they sure made them count. Jahmier Primer was a big and he was sure to command the paint and control the boards, but he also showed some of that treasured versatility. Primer was able to flash a respectable jump shot, as well as quickly head to the rim and complete athletic finishes moves only guards should do.
