This week was full of great games that had lots of great players in them. I saw some exciting prospects and look forward to giving you my evaluations each and every Sunday throughout the season. It is time to recap this week and look at what our exciting prospects did.

Indian Creek: vs Edgewood 12/17

[player_tooltip player_id="963901" first="Ethan" last="Williams"] – 6’4 2021 SF: Williams is a long wing with a smooth jumper. Very athletic and kind of a do it all type player. Can score at all three levels and is real solid at shooting off the catch. He has a light frame but utilizes it well in traffic where he can get through efficiently. Very tough on defense and had a few stop and steals this game. Should continue to be the main guy on the IC offense. I see a lot of potential in this prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="963918" first="Mason" last="Britt"] – 6’0 2021 PG: Britt is a taller and stronger lead guard. Real fast when he has room to run and can get through traffic pretty easily. He had good court vision and was in control of the offense for the majority of the game. Played on the ball 90% of the game and hardly ever played off the ball unless he was dishing it to his teammates. He does dribble a bit too much at the top so need to see a little more movement there. Did not shoot it from the outside a ton so I do not really know about his outside game. Overall, Britt had a solid performance and is big reason why the offense for Indian Creek can be ran.

[player_tooltip player_id="1077043" first="Christian" last="Wiseman"] – 6’8 2021 C: Wiseman is a long and lankly center. He has some legit 6’8 height to him and rebounds well like you might think. Did not play the post as much as I thought he would be he did show an ability to stretch the floor a bit with knocking down an outside shot. He plays more the pick-and-pop right now rather than rolling to the basket. With him shooting more jumpers and wanting to play more like a stretch big he will need to work on hitting those at a more consistent rate. Needs to add a little bit more strength but overall Wiseman is an interesting prospect with his height alone giving him potential at the next level.

Edgewood: vs Indian Creek 12/17

[player_tooltip player_id="963902" first="Coleman" last="Sater"] – 6’4 2021 SF: Sater is a combo forward that is so tough and physical. He looked so unstoppable this game in the paint and got to the basket any time he wanted to. He is kind of a unique prospect in a way that he is bigger than a typical wing but is a little undersized for a PF. For his size I will say he has some underrated ball handling skills and uses that well on the drive from the 3-point line. Solid shooter from the outside as well. Sater is one of my favorite players to watch just because of his motor and how tough he plays. Currently one of the top 5 players in scoring in the state and looks to have no signs of slowing down.

Bloomington North: vs Zionsville 12/19

[player_tooltip player_id="783176" first="Isaac" last="Vencel"] – 6’1 2021 SG: Vencel is a tall guard with a ton of skill. He started off the game with a huge baseline dunk that set the tone for Bloomington North right out the gate. From seeing that dunk it made realize just how underrated his vertical ability is. After that, his offense was a little quiet at times but he was making the much needed defensive plays on the other end. We talk about his offensive ability quite a bit but his defense deserves some love too because his long arms and strength make it tough for offensive players to body him. Vencel is currently having a pretty good senior season and I expect him to continue to do so.

[player_tooltip player_id="868224" first="JaQualon" last="Roberts"] – 6’5 2023 SF: Roberts played in the post most of this game and showed a little post-up action early on. He was really good when he had the room to get out and run and his long strides and athleticism made it easy for him to get around the Zionsville defenders. Roberts is just one of those player that has all the mechanics to be made into an elite player in high school and at the next level. He did look a little wild at times but once he settled down he made big plays for North. Still feel there is some untapped potential in Roberts that is just begging to come out.

[player_tooltip player_id="870215" first="Nick" last="Klaiber"] – 6’1 2022 PG: Klaiber is a quick lead guard who always seems to be just a little bit faster than everybody else on the court. This was my first time seeing Klaiber this season and I felt like I saw a good amount of improvement in his game. He looked a little bit stronger than he already was and he was finishing a lot better on his drives to the rim. Also felt like I really hadn’t seen much of a jumper from him last season but he lit it up this game from behind the arc. Klaiber is just one of the players with a high IQ like a lead guard needs to have in order to have a successful offense ran. It was good to see Klaiber take it to a new level this game.

Zionsville: vs Bloomington North 12/19

[player_tooltip player_id="963943" first="Dylan" last="Ritter"] – 6’1 2021 PG: Ritter had himself a really good game in this one. He did a little bit of everything this game with scoring, distributing, defending, and pretty much everything you would expect from this awesome senior. Shot the ball very well and showed just how good he is dribbling through traffic and finishing at the rim. It is pretty simple really, Zionsville does not succeed without Ritter on the floor running the offense. There should be no doubt that this guy can play at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="868255" first="Logan" last="Imes"] – 6’2 2023 PG/SG: Imes is a tall guard with a smooth release. The first time I watched him this season he struggled a little bit offensively but not this game at all. He shot it pretty well from behind the arc and was a ton more aggressive getting his shot off. Also showed an ability to score in multiple different ways and find other ways to contribute on the offense. Also think he a little underrated defensively as he had a steal that resulted in a huge and1. Within these next couple of years, Imes is probably going to be one of the more elite scorers in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="868244" first="Nicholas" last="Richart"] – 6’8 2023 PF: Richart was in foul trouble for most of the first half but man did he go off in the second half. They started feeding him down low and he made his defender pay with him getting bucket after bucket. When he posts up, he is really patient with his attacks and utilizes very good footwork. Just really smooth with a soft touch around the rim. His outside shot was not there but if he can develop that he is going to be very tough to stop. We are going to be talking about Richart being one of the best bigs in the state sooner rather than later.
