Impressive Players – Midway/Minto vs. Grafton

<p>Coming into tonight’s game Midway/Minto was 1-1 on the year. Grafton was 2-0 and #3 in our Week 1 Power Rankings. They certainly looked like the #3 ranked team in the State of ND. It was all Spoilers for the entire game. Grafton looked unstoppable for most of the night. They played fast and are great in transition. It seemed like the game just started and the buzzer sounded for the 1st quarter and they had put up 22 points. When the Spoilers did not score in transition they had to go against the Mustang zone. Grafton was unselfish and moved the ball well. By halftime, the Spoilers had built a 27-point lead. The second half was more of the same for the Spoilers. The Mustangs did not give up, but they just did not have the firepower to hang with the Spoilers tonight. Look out for Grafton. They are as good as advertised!</p> <p><strong>Game Takeaways</strong> – Grafton is extremely good in transition and scores quickly. They are full of skilled athletic players. Steven Garza is a special player. He has good balance and is a relaxed shooter. Expect a nice year from Seth.</p> <p><strong>William Schuster (2021) |6-1 G| Midway/Minto</strong> – Nice shooting form from outside the arc. He is a smooth smart player. Legitimate guard with good handles and passing ability. William will have a good senior season.</p> <p><strong>Grafton</strong><br /> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1046345" first="Brandon" last="Albrecht"] (2021) |6-4 G| Grafton</strong> – Very nice pull-up jumper. He has the ability to be a zone-buster with his outside shot in 3-point land.</p> <p><strong>Jose Sanchez III (2021) |6-1 F| Grafton</strong> – Athletic role player off the bench. He has solid fundamentals. Jose moves well without the ball and is a hard worker.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1046339" first="Justin" last="Garza"] (2021) |5-11 G| Grafton</strong> – A do-it-all player who is athletic. I was impressed by how he moved within the zone and found the open spot to catch the ball. Once he had the ball, he made plays in the paint and around the rim. Justin is good in transition and playing fast.</p> <p><strong>Luis Balderas Jr (2021) |5-9 G| Grafton</strong> – Quick unselfish guard. He is a serious 3-point threat.</p> <p><strong>Steven Garza (2021) |6-3 G| Grafton</strong> – The best player on the court tonight. He is a gifted basketball player and a great athlete. Steven looks to have a compact efficient shot with good elevation on his jumper. He is more than capable of hitting the 3-ball. Shot blocking and deflecting passes on defense come easy for him. Steven is also a skilled hall handler and an unselfish passer. He is almost unstoppable in the open court and in transition. Expect Steven to have a great year and for the Spoilers to make a run for the State Tournament.</p> <p><strong>William Jiskra (2022) |6-4 G| Grafton</strong> – Good size and moves well. He finishes well around the basket. William is a very talented rebounder.</p>
