DeVries has committed to play college ball at Drake, but he is no doubt a high-major talent. A 6-7 wing who is among the best shooters, and arguably the best tough shot maker, that we’ve seen, he has the size, length, versatility and shooting that college programs covet. He’s an elite-level shooter who also has tremendous playmaking ability. He averaged 21.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists last year, while shooting 48% from behind the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="727863" first="Payton" last="Sandfort"] (Waukee, 2021)

Sandfort is an Iowa commit, and is another dynamic shooter for the Warriors. Also standing about 6-7, Sandfort has a quick release and a tremendous feel for the game. He’s long, positions himself well on the defensive end and is a very talented passer. He averaged 19.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists, while shooting 45% from 3.

[player_tooltip player_id="796097" first="Michael" last="Duax"] (Hempstead, 2021)

The last in a long line of Duax boys to star at Hempstead, Michael is the best of the bunch. A big, physical, 6-5 wing, he averaged 21.0 points and 8.2 rebounds a game last season, and has the ability to score from all three levels at a highly efficient clip. He’s an explosive athlete who has committed to play his college ball at Northern Iowa.

[player_tooltip player_id="796127" first="Landon" last="Wolf"] (Cedar Falls, 2021)

Another Northern Iowa commit, Wolf put together a really solid junior year for the Tigers, then exploded over the summer, scoring game-winner after game-winner for the Iowa Barnstormers. Another big, long wing, Wolf is an elite shooter who knocked down 44% of his shots from 3 last season, while averaging 11.8 points and 5.0 rebounds. Look for his scoring number to really shoot up this year.

[player_tooltip player_id="796107" first="Reid" last="Grant"] (Johnston, 2021)

Grant doesn’t put up huge numbers playing on a very balanced Johnston team, but he’s a winner who does all of the little things on both ends of the floor that winning teams need. He’s a very good defender and a high-level passer who protects the ball and makes the right plays. He has committed to play at North Dakota.

[player_tooltip player_id="796111" first="Caleb" last="Schlaak"] (Kennedy, 2021)

Following the departures of Jack Wetzel and [player_tooltip player_id="530046" first="Tyler" last="Andrews"] before last season, a lot of shots opened up for the Cougars, and Schlaak took full advantage. A 6-7 combo forward with a nice stroke from deep and good footwork and touch around the bucket, he can score inside and out, and has the length to be a versatile defender. He averaged 17.2 points and 5.7 rebounds last season, and has signed to play Division II ball at Truman State.

[player_tooltip player_id="682279" first="Tamin" last="Lipsey"] (Ames, 2022)

Welcome back, Tamin. The uber-talented lead guard missed all of last season after suffering a torn ACL during the summer. As a freshman, he averaged 17 points a game and helped lead the Little Cyclones to the state tournament. A big, physical guard who also has outstanding speed, he impacts the game on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="796110" first="Malik" last="Allen"] (Waukee, 2021)

Allen put up eye-popping numbers at Des Moines North last season, leading 4A in scoring at 26.4 points a game, while also ranking among the leaders in assists (5.2) and steals (2.8). He’s transferred over to Waukee this year, and with so many talented scoring threats on the roster, expect his scoring to decrease. But he’s a big-time talent who can fill it up in a hurry and make an impact on both ends of the floor with his speed.
