The Bay Are, Sacramento and Central Valley, with prospects from Fresno, all had good representation. This was one of the few events in NorCal with plenty of prospects from the area looking for exposure, and to compete. Here’s a deeper look at the C/O 2022 prospects at this event, that I was able to see.
Andre Warren Andre Warren 6'3" | CG Lincoln Stockton | 2022 State CA-N 6’3 Guard/Wing Lincoln.
Warren showed some toughness having to guard bigger players in the paint at this event. He gave up height, and weight but still showed a willingness to defend, and rebound. He’s a much more effective player when he can get into a fast paced game to show his offensive skills. A 6’3 guard with decent handles, and passing skills, he’ll finish in transition with strong controlled drives or short pull ups. He’ll make open shots from 3.
Anthony Garcia Anthony Garcia 6'4" | CG Capital Christian | 2022 State CA-N 6’3 Combo Guard, Capital Christian.
This was my first look at Garcia, he’s a two sport athlete (Football, QB) A versatile well conditioned athlete plays with a good amount of poise and confidence. He was effective at both guard positions showing good patience facilitating in the half court, and an ability to create his own shot at the off guard spot. Garcia shows speed, and good lateral movement when defending. He’s on Wright’s Watch list.
Kosi Warren House 6’3 Guard, Santa Cruz.
House is an energetic player, constantly moving into open spots on the court. He has good foot speed, lateral movement, and capable of defending multiple positions. His offense could use some polishing up a bit, nonetheless, he showed he could handle, pass it up in transition, take it to the rim on occasion, and knock down a few jumpers. I’ll see him again.
Cade Bennett 6’0 Guard, Campolindo.
Bennett has improved in multiple areas, since I last saw him. He’s defined his point guard skills, he seem more sure of what it takes to run an offense. He showed he could handle the pressure bringing the ball up court. Bennett had good patience in facilitating half court sets. His passing is underrated, he sees the court well, he feeds the post, and finds the cutters. He has a good floater to get his shot off over taller players. He’s on Wright’s watch list. 3pt range.
Daniel Malagon 5’11 Point Guard, Turlock.
Malagon a good player with solid point guard skills, he plays under control most of the time, he brings patience, and does a good job of balancing the floor in half courts sets. He has good vision, and solid passing finding shooters, and cutters. He seems to be a pass first point guard, but he’s capable of getting his own shots. He takes good open shots. He has a knack for drawing fouls when he gets into the paint. Defensively he stays between his man and ball, always in good help position.
