2020 Grantham Holiday Classic: standout seniors

<p><b>[player_tooltip player_id="745368" first="DJ" last="Freeman"] | 2021 Casady F </b><em>(pictured above)</em></p> <p>You know who Freeman is.</p> <p>He notched a 25-point, 19-rebound day against HFC on Tuesday, and that is really just what he does. The senior is averaging a double-double for the Cyclones, and if you saw his game against HFC you would understand why his name is in so many conversations.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p>Freeman is a remarkably multi-talented player with dynamic athleticism. In most cases, you get a few chips that you can distribute as you please between pure, explosive athleticism and polished skill; Freeman has has sliders all the way up on both.</p> <p>He finishes with either hand, rises with tremendous bounce, slams it on every occasion he can, can hit 3-pointers, mid-rangers, protects the rim and can kick the extra point, too.</p> <hr /> <p><b>Jackson Kennedy | 2021 Casady CG</b></p> <p>Kennedy is essentially the glue that holds Casady together, especially in the absence of PJ Mitchell-Johnson.</p> <p>Like Freeman, he does a little bit of everything. He has great speed given his stature, and he can bring the ball up the floor to set up Freeman and others to score. He has great vision, iQ, and whether he has the ball in his hands or is moving off-ball to position himself, he is going to find a way to get a bucket.</p> <p>He also shoots the ball pretty well, but most strikingly, he hits shots at a high percentage and has a strong mid-range game. On one of his more impressive scores of the game against HFC, he handled the ball up the floor, cut at the key and drove left before contorting his body to finish a floater running opposite the basket with his near hand. The senior forward scored 27 points against OKC Storm to lead the Wildcats to a wing.</p> <p>He can do <i>a lot</i> with the ball in his hands. Suster has a tough crossover, can shoot out of the dribble, can bring it up the floor, can score in the post and more. He can really handle the rock, especially when you consider his size.</p> <p>Suster converted early on a crossover pull-up from long-range, which was already impressive for the 6-foot-6-inch forward.</p> <p>He impressed further in the third quarter when he nailed a turn-around jumper from the short corner, defenders draped from him.</p>
