Prep Hoops Missouri took in the action at the Webster Groves Jamboree which featured two excellent teams in DeSmet and the host Webster Groves Statesmen. Here is a look at the standouts from the jamboree.

Brian Taylor 6’3" DeSmet: The smooth 2021 point guard was the best player on the floor at both ends. He’s a lock down defender with his length and ability to move his feet. He dropped some nice dimes and knocked down open 3-pointers while making solid decisions with the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="994434" first="Sekou" last="Gassama"] 6’10" DeSmet: The athletic 2021 forward did much of work sweeping the defensive glass and holding down the middle defensively. He finished well around the basket and ran the court well.

Anthony Phiffer 5’10" Webster Groves: The 2021 point guard really excels as an all-purpose player. He can also play off the ball with his ability to move and cut. He rebounds well for his size and competes defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id="1070102" first="Justin" last="Duff"] 6’3" DeSmet: The 2023 wing was the best perimeter shooter off the night. He had a stretch where he knocked down four 3-pointers in a row. He moves well without the ball and did his work to get himself open.

Luke Maupin 6’4" Webster Groves: An athletic 2021 player who plays a solid complimentary role for his team. He rebounds well and can also block shots and pass the ball. He has a high motor and can also make a 3-pointer off the pick and pop.

[player_tooltip player_id="984518" first="Brennan" last="Lovette"] 6’5" DeSmet: A skilled and versatile wing player with the size to play multiple positions. He was a real good facilitator throughout the game as he kept the offense flowing with his passing and ball movement.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050177" first="Ethan" last="Chartrand"] 6’2" Webster Groves: The 2022 guard has a knack for putting the ball in the basket. He attacks the basket well and can score on floaters and off-balance shots in the lane.
