One of the more exciting changes this year is the addition of the new 4A conference. With 5A now becoming the largest class division, 4A has become a defacto city championship featuring all Las Vegas Programs. With Gorman dominating the large class division for a decade, this new 4A division provides some parity, to go along with bragging rights. In this article, we take a look at the top returning scorers from the 4A conference.

[player_tooltip player_id="859646" first="Tavionte" last="Jackson"] 6’1 PG Las Vegas 2022 (#5PHN 2022) - Jackson is the odds on favorite to take home POY honors. He’s a pure PG but he gets buckets as well. Jackson is the leading returner averaging nearly 17ppg last season.

[player_tooltip player_id="927124" first="Andrew" last="Garcia"] 5’11 PG Legacy 2021 (#29PHN 2021) - My man [player_tooltip player_id="927124" first="Andrew" last="Garcia"] needs some love. The lefty has been putting up buckets for the last two years. Is he a 1? Is he a 2? I’m not sure, but he can change the scoreboard, averaging 15ppg last year.

[player_tooltip player_id="858161" first="Kentrell" last="Wallace"] 6’1 SG Las Vegas 2021 (#23PHN 2021) - Wallace is a natural scorer who finishes well in transition, has a nice mid-range game, and is a capable 3 point shooter. He used all 3 of those levels to produce 14.1ppg last year.

[player_tooltip player_id="927119" first="Jaylen" last="Berry"] 6’2 PG Basic 2021 (#20PHN 2021) - A Berry vs Jackson matchup is extremely intriguing to me. The gritty guard is one of the best two-way players in the state. When not locking down opposing ballhandlers, he managed to throw up over 14ppg last year.

[player_tooltip player_id="858155" first="John" last="Board"] 6’1 SG Basic 2021 (#21PHN 2021) (featured image) - Board is Berry’s backcourt mate. Much like Berry, Board did a great job of locking up opposing players. He also found a way to put the ball in the bucket, averaging over 13ppg last season.

[player_tooltip player_id="927126" first="Zach" last="Jefferson"] 6’2 SG Shadow Ridge 2021 (#31PHN 2021) - When he’s on, Jefferson is one of the most dynamic scorers in the state. He buries 3’s and can get to the rim off the bounce. He has a legitimate chance of averaging over 20ppg this year after coming off a 13.2 ppg season last year.

[player_tooltip player_id="927155" first="Nico" last="Diaz"] 6’0 SG Bonanza 2021 (#71PHN 2021) - Diaz had a ton of explosive performances last season. He put up 20 against Palo Verde, 18 against Faith Lutheran, and 17 in a win over Shadow Ridge. For the season the Bengals guard averaged 10.5 per game.
