While we’re certainly taking things one day at a time, the prospects of high school basketball occurring in the DMV this winter are more promising now than they have been in quite a while. In anticipation of this, we will be rolling out preview content over the next several weeks. Here is a look at the Preseason All-Senior Teams for Virginia Private Schools.

First Team

G - [player_tooltip player_id="697111" first="Angelo" last="Brizzi"]

Brizzi has enjoyed a brilliant high school career both at Fauquier and Highland. Expect the future Villanova Wildcat to close it out style with another productive campaign.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="697101" first="Darius" last="Johnson"]

Johnson’s emergence at Episcopal last season was impressive. He finished as one of the top scorers in the area, but can also lock up on defense. He was a no-brainer pick for the first team.

G - Michael Gray

As the defending VISAA Division II State Player of the Year, Gray’s resume speaks for itself. There’s no reason why this George Mason commit should not be in line for another big year.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="543841" first="Trevor" last="Keels"]

Keels will be the guy at PVI this year, and there’s no doubt he’s ready. He’s gained valuable experience over the years and should be able to deliver the goods.

C - [player_tooltip player_id="798692" first="IJ" last="Ezuma"]

Ezuma remains a hidden gem within the state and an important player at Hargrave. Energy is his main selling point and he brings it every single night.

Second Team

G - [player_tooltip player_id="748763" first="Christian" last="Moore"]

Moore is another underrated player on this list with a strong body of work. He was first-team all-state in Division 1 last year, and given his role, should be able to at least repeat that performance.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="798685" first="AJ" last="Williams"]

Williams has taken his talents to Oak Hill where he will have the opportunity to showcase his big-time scoring prowess on the NIBC. The former Trinity star should no be forgotten despite the fact that he's left Richmond.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="687573" first="Kenard" last="Richardson"]

Richardson is a bonafide bucket-getter with intangibles that every team needs. The Iona commit will once again be an interesting player to watch within the state.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="798696" first="Garrett" last="Johnson"]

Johnson's improvement in the last 12 months has been significant. The future Princeton Tiger enjoyed a breakout year and should have gained the confidence to build from it.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="798686" first="Clarence" last="Rupert"]

Rupert is one of the more unique prospects you'll find on this list. His versatility makes him a huge asset for Miller and it's a big reason why he's so highly regarded.

Third Team

G - [player_tooltip player_id="697100" first="Quadir" last="Pettaway"]

Pettaway is a premium scorer and reliable ball-handler who will combine with Rupert to once again form a dynamic guard-forward tandem at Miller. These two should be regular standouts for the Mavericks.

G - Mac MacDonald

It's worth noting that MacDonald has worked hard to get stronger and improve his physique during the offseason. He looks stronger than ever and should be able to thrive while handling a heavy workload at Collegiate.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="957951" first="Kobe" last="Jerome"]

While Jerome's arrival at Blue Ridge did not make headline news, it was a key offseason addition that helped put the Barons over the top. The high IQ guard is the type of player who guys love to play with and that's a desirable trait.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="957890" first="Xzavier" last="Long"]

Long will be the engine for Virginia Academy this season. Expect him to play with high energy on both ends of the floor and stand out consistently as a result.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="798695" first="Bryson" last="Spell"]

Spell did not make First or Second Team All-State in VISAA Division 1 last year, but it will be tough to leave him off this year. The stretch big is steadily improving and appears to be in good form heading into his final high school season.
