<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Class B action got off to a fast start this week. Marquee games like the two JS Clark Leadership had against Anacoco and Simsboro included some of the top players in the class. I believe the class B all-state 1st and 2nd team will encompass a few players from these teams (as well as some others). I will cover my predictions here with my early season all-state picks.</p> <p><strong>1st Team </strong>(Alphabetical order)</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="970111" first="Jamaria" last="Clark"] (6’1" Sophomore/ Doyline)</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="781837" first="Collin" last="Coates"] (6’6" Junior / Runnels)</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977273" first="D’Marcus" last="Fugett"] (6’3" Senior / JS Clark Leadership)</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="932860" first="Nick" last="Maryland"] (6’2" Junior / Simsboro)</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="765169" first="Shaun" last="Riley"] (6’7" Senior / Anacoco)</strong></p> <p><strong>Clark</strong> has taken the momentum he had from playing well this summer and has gotten off to a blazing hot start.  He has already had a 40 and 30 point night in jamboree and season opening play.  His numbers alone will probably warrant a first team selection.  The same goes for <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="781837" first="Collin" last="Coates"].</strong>  The Runnels star put up solid numbers last season.  Another Runnels run with him as the leader will be first team selection worthy.  </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="765169" first="Shaun" last="Riley"]</strong> has moved to Louisiana (from Illinois) and has garnered a buzz already.  Coach Carlisle will get plenty out of him and put him in position for a first team selection.  <strong>Fugett </strong>is a two-way guard who can definitely fill it up from multiple levels on the offensive end.  His defense will get him some easy buckets as well and make him a good first team choice.  There has not been a time when I have not seen a Simsboro guard make the first or second team post season list since working with Prep Hoops.  I think <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="932860" first="Nick" last="Maryland"]</strong> steps up in the role left by the other Simsboro all-state guards and makes the first team this season.  </p> <p><strong>2nd Team </strong>(Alphabetical order)</p> <p><strong>Landry Alligood (6’2" Senior / Anacoco)</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="981496" first="Channing" last="Arvie"] (6’1" Junior / JS Clark Leadership)</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1051637" first="Elijah" last="Belton"] (6’0" Junior / Singer)</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1045521" first="Noah" last="Guidry"] (6’2" Senior / Hathaway)</strong></p> <p><strong>Tevin Williams (6’3" Senior / Mt. Hermon)</strong></p> <p><strong>Tevin Williams</strong> averaged a double-double last season for Mt. Hermon and led them to a playoff win before losing to Doyline.  I think he repeats this act but lands on the second team this season.  <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1045521" first="Noah" last="Guidry"] </strong>can put the ball in the hole and play some defense as well.  He should slide into the lead scoring role for Hathaway and hopefully have a repeat top three seed this season.  <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1051637" first="Elijah" last="Belton"]</strong> is a point guard who can get others into the game and score.  With him at the helm, Singer should have another good season.  </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="981496" first="Channing" last="Arvie"]</strong> is a good combo guard who can be deadly from distance.  He will be one of the reasons Leadership contends again for a trip to Marsh Madness.  Tulane baseball commit <strong>Landry Alligood</strong> may have a dynamite fast ball.  He can also play some hoops too.  I see him playing off [player_tooltip player_id="765169" first="Shaun" last="Riley"] well and making the second team by making threes and playing defense.  </p> <p>The basketball in class B is fun to watch.  There will definitely be other players on this level who make a run at the 1st and 2nd team.  We will see what happens at season’s end.  </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->

Class B action got off to a fast start this week. Marquee games like the two JS Clark Leadership had against Anacoco and Simsboro included some of the top players in the class. I believe the class B all-state 1st and 2nd team will encompass a few players from these teams (as well as some others). I will cover my predictions here with my early season all-state picks.

1st Team (Alphabetical order)

Jamaria Clark Jamaria Clark Jamaria Clark 6'2" | CG Doyline | 2023 State LA (6’1" Sophomore/ Doyline)

Collin Coates Collin Coates Collin Coates 6'5" | SF University Lab | 2022 State LA (6’6" Junior / Runnels)

D’Marcus Fugett D’Marcus Fugett 6'5" | SG JS Clark Leadership | 2021 State LA (6’3" Senior / JS Clark Leadership)

Nick Maryland Nick Maryland Nick Maryland 6'2" | CG Simsboro | 2022 State LA (6’2" Junior / Simsboro)

Shaun Riley Shaun Riley 6'7" | PF Anacoco | 2021 State LA (6’7" Senior / Anacoco)

Clark has taken the momentum he had from playing well this summer and has gotten off to a blazing hot start.  He has already had a 40 and 30 point night in jamboree and season opening play.  His numbers alone will probably warrant a first team selection.  The same goes for Collin Coates Collin Coates Collin Coates 6'5" | SF University Lab | 2022 State LA .  The Runnels star put up solid numbers last season.  Another Runnels run with him as the leader will be first team selection worthy.

Shaun Riley Shaun Riley 6'7" | PF Anacoco | 2021 State LA has moved to Louisiana (from Illinois) and has garnered a buzz already.  Coach Carlisle will get plenty out of him and put him in position for a first team selection.  Fugett is a two-way guard who can definitely fill it up from multiple levels on the offensive end.  His defense will get him some easy buckets as well and make him a good first team choice.  There has not been a time when I have not seen a Simsboro guard make the first or second team post season list since working with Prep Hoops.  I think Nick Maryland Nick Maryland Nick Maryland 6'2" | CG Simsboro | 2022 State LA steps up in the role left by the other Simsboro all-state guards and makes the first team this season.

2nd Team (Alphabetical order)

Landry Alligood (6’2" Senior / Anacoco)

Channing Arvie Channing Arvie Channing Arvie 6'1" | SG JS Clark Leadership | 2022 State LA (6’1" Junior / JS Clark Leadership)

Elijah Belton Elijah Belton Elijah Belton 6'0" | PG Hamilton Christian | 2022 State LA (6’0" Junior / Singer)

Noah Guidry Noah Guidry 6'2" | SG Hathaway | 2021 State LA (6’2" Senior / Hathaway)

Tevin Williams (6’3" Senior / Mt. Hermon)

Tevin Williams averaged a double-double last season for Mt. Hermon and led them to a playoff win before losing to Doyline.  I think he repeats this act but lands on the second team this season.  Noah Guidry Noah Guidry 6'2" | SG Hathaway | 2021 State LA  can put the ball in the hole and play some defense as well.  He should slide into the lead scoring role for Hathaway and hopefully have a repeat top three seed this season.  Elijah Belton Elijah Belton Elijah Belton 6'0" | PG Hamilton Christian | 2022 State LA is a point guard who can get others into the game and score.  With him at the helm, Singer should have another good season.

Channing Arvie Channing Arvie Channing Arvie 6'1" | SG JS Clark Leadership | 2022 State LA is a good combo guard who can be deadly from distance.  He will be one of the reasons Leadership contends again for a trip to Marsh Madness.  Tulane baseball commit Landry Alligood may have a dynamite fast ball.  He can also play some hoops too.  I see him playing off Shaun Riley Shaun Riley 6'7" | PF Anacoco | 2021 State LA well and making the second team by making threes and playing defense.

The basketball in class B is fun to watch.  There will definitely be other players on this level who make a run at the 1st and 2nd team.  We will see what happens at season’s end.
