Class 2A – Region 6 Preview

<p>This region is really up for grabs this season. The Burke HS Bulldogs located in downtown Charleston next door to the The Citadel will be the slight favorite. The Woodland HS Wolverines have a great guard in [player_tooltip player_id="770942" first=<strong>"Michael" last="Shuler</strong>"]. Read more about this region right here on your source for all coverage in the Palmetto State. </p> <p><strong><em>Predictions:</em> </strong></p> <p><strong>Burke HS - </strong>The Bulldogs will travel outside the City of Charleston this coming season and play up in the Class 2A ranks.</p> <p><strong>Woodland HS - </strong>The Wolverines have a good guard in [player_tooltip player_id="770942" first="<strong>Michael" last="Shuler</strong>"]. </p> <p><strong>Philip Simmons HS - </strong>The Iron Horses </p> <p><strong>Ridgeland-Hardeeville HS - </strong>Will the Jaguars play this coming season? The Jaguars didn’t play this football this past fall. </p> <p><strong>Lake Marion HS (Santee) - </strong>The Gators will surprise some teams this coming season and improve on last years miserable record. </p> <p><strong>Timberland HS (St Stephen) - </strong>The Wolves finished last season at (5-18). </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><em><strong>Players to Watch in the Region:</strong></em></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="840265" first="Rahmel" last="Bell"] (2021) - Burke HS (Prep Hoops CO Region Player of the Year)</strong></p> <p>Bell has been a fixture here for Head Coach Deon Richardson since his freshman season. Bell averaged 10.1 ppg and 5.6 rebounds for the Bulldogs last season. Shuler averaged 16 ppg and 4.4 assists last season for the Wolves. Shuler plays football and soccer at Woodland HS. Baker a jet quick guard really likes to push the tempo up the floor. Baker plays the game with a fearless mindset and seems to really use the bounce pass well. Baker averaged 10.4 ppg, 2.5 assists and 2.6 steals last season. </p> <p><strong>Lyric Evans (2022) - Timberland HS (St Stephen)</strong></p> <p>Evans 5’8 small point guard is back to provide leadership for the Wolves. Jenkins and the Gators could surprise some folks this coming season. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1081011" first="Brandon" last="Howard"]</strong> (2023) has transferred out of Ridgeland-Hardeeville HS and now attends nearby Thomas Heyward Academy. Howard averaged 10.5 ppg, 3.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.5 steals last season for the Jaguars. </p>
