A Closer Look: Word Of God Christian Academy

<div><em>Word of God is a program that has been known nationally for years and this past season was no different. Top Forward [player_tooltip player_id="769362" first="Isaiah" last="Todd"] transferred in and the Holy Rams competed with some of the best in the country, as well as reaching the final four in the state championship. Their season has already begun and the Holy Rams return numerous players as well as an addition of a new talent that has interest from programs around the country. </em></div> <div> </div> <div>Junior Wing <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="574441" first="Jai" last="Smith"]</strong> is the new addition to this group and is the highest level prospect as he holds offers from top programs such as: NC State, LSU, Georgia and many others. It doesn’t take a long time of watching him to see why these programs are so highly interested in him, he has a nice overall skillset, is athletic and strong. Look for Smith to put together some big time performances this season as he already seems to be comfortable after his first game with the team. </div> <div> </div> <div>Senior Wing <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1050541" first="Saiquone" last="Harris"]</strong> is a player that we feel is ready to take the next step as far as leadership and production goes. He had some very impressive performances during the grassroots season, scoring and rebounding the ball at a high level, proving himself as a legit D1 talent. JUCO programs will want to go ahead and offer him as he will be a player that will need to go the JC route for the first two years of his college career. </div> <div> </div> <div>Junior Guard <strong>Po King</strong> did not necessarily have the best off season during grassroots tournaments but he’s a player that excels in more of a high school structure environment. Already this season he has put together a 20 Point performance and is a player that is in the conversation as one of the better shooters in the state. </div> <div> </div> <div>Junior Guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="848065" first="Khalil" last="Marshall"]</strong> has played his way on to the watch list of quite a few D1 programs with his ability to break down defenders and score the ball. One of the attributes that sets Khalil apart from many of the other guards in his class is his competitiveness. You will never see him back down from any challenge and he’s always looking for a way to gain an advantage to help his team get the win, if he can stay healthy throughout the season, his stock should continue to rise. </div> <div> </div> <div>Senior Guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1050539" first="BJ" last="Keith"]</strong> could very well become one of the players for this team that end up being an X factor. We saw him play well during the grassroots season on multiple occasions, making a high impact on games on both ends of the floor. He plays the game with toughness and understands how to run a team, which has led to him seeing a boost in his recruitment over the last few months. </div>
