2020-21 Season Preview: Moravian Prep National

<p>The Moravian Prep National squad has a new crop of players in their rotation led by the services of 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="577884" first="Corneilous" last="Williams"] and 2021 BJ Freeman, two leaders in their frontcourt already. They’re a much deeper bunch than they were a season ago with talent spread mostly in the 2021 &amp; 2022 class. They also boast 2025 prospect [player_tooltip player_id="1029969" first="Eli" last="Ellis"] in the rotation. </p> <p>Moravian Prep has an intriguing bunch on their hands, so first, let’s take a look at the potential starters:</p> <p>PG - [player_tooltip player_id="574443" first="Camian" last="Shell"] (2022): Shell is a lightning quick two-way guard that can defend at a high level and score in bunches as he’s done at Parkland High School, his former destination in the 2019-20 season. He’s a gritty prospect that should turn heads despite his 5-foot-9 stature.</p> <p>SG - [player_tooltip player_id="932061" first="Cedric" last="Patterson"] (2021) : Patterson joins the Moravian Prep ranks after spending last season at United Faith Christian Academy. He’s transitioning to the wing, where he’s emerged as quite the shooter. Look for his stock to rise as one of the 3-point marksman on the fastbreak. </p> <p>SF - [player_tooltip player_id="536323" first="Korey" last="Richardson"] (2022) - Richardson is a recent addition after spending much of his high school career in the South Carolina area, where he shined as a slashing prospect that can get to the paint and finish with authority. He’ll work to improve his ability to create off the dribble in the Moravian rotation.</p> <p>PF - [player_tooltip player_id="838019" first="B.J." last="Freeman"] (2021) - Freeman joins the rotation after productive year at Clayton High where he produced 20.6 ppg, 11.0 rpg and 1.7 apg. He’s a high-major prospect with potential to play multiple positions on the floor and can create at a high level.</p> <p>C- [player_tooltip player_id="577884" first="Corneilous" last="Williams"] (2022) - Williams is a workhorse on the interior for Moravian Prep that joins the squad from Mississippi. He’ll provide rim protection and a consistent presence on the inside.</p> <p><strong>Now here’s a look at the reserves:</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="918978" first="Jackson" last="Holt"] (2022) - Holt is a lights-out shooter on the perimeter that should find himself as one of the first scorers off the bench given what he’s capable of on the wing. He’ll be a name to look out for.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1029969" first="Eli" last="Ellis"] (2025) - Ellis is a young prospect in the 2025 class but it hasn’t slowed him down much as he’s found himself playing against some top-tier talent on a national stage. He’s a guard that can score from anywhere on the floor and off the dribble. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="869623" first="Xavier" last="Thornton"] (2021) - Thornton is a versatile prospect at 6-foot-4. He’s a top-notch defender that’s slowly finding his confidence on the offensive end as well. As he learns to make an impact with the ball in his hands, look for his role to grow with this team. </p> <p><strong>Jacquez Shuler</strong> (2021) - Shuler is an emerging 7-footer who will provide a spark off the bench as a rim protector and rim runner. He’s an active big man that’s finding his way in the rotation as a big man that can stretch the floor.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="927539" first="Jameel" last="Brooks"] (2021) - Brooks is another workhorse in the paint that does well cleaning up the glass and playing in the post. He’s a 6-foot-8 bruiser that isn’t afraid to play physical or mix it up on the interior, he’ll be another prospect off the bench to keep eyes on.</p>
