Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo took place this past weekend at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center. The 2022 Palmetto State was represented very well here at Top 250 Expo. Who were some of the players in the event ?

[player_tooltip player_id="930610" first="Devin" last="Gillespie"] - Cheraw HS

Gillespie is best suited on the wing especially with [player_tooltip player_id="840225" first="Marshall" last="Myers"] as the point guard for the Braves program. Gillespie a rangy player is very good in the passing lanes with his ability to pickup deflections. Gillespie is a streaky shooter and has been on the varsity since his 8th grade year. Gillespie plays defensive back on the football team in the fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="594050" first="Kylic" last="Horton"] - Clarendon Hall (Summerton) (pictured on the front)

Horton was shaking off the rust since he hadn’t played basketball since the Saints won the SCISA Class 1A State Championship Game for the 2nd year in a row back in February. Horton 6’6 now plays wide receiver and has received pretty good recruitment along the way according to Head Coach Anthony Reitenhour. Horton has filled out with his frame and has a long wingspan. Horton will have to make a decision down what sport he would like to play in college ?

[player_tooltip player_id="976896" first="Mikey" last="Templeton"] - Orangeburg Prep

Templeton will wear a new uniform this season. Templeton has transferred over from Andrew Jackson Academy where he averaged 14 ppg last season. Templeton was able to connect on some perimeter jumpers here today.

[player_tooltip player_id="976985" first="Jeremiah" last="Harris"] - Airport HS

Harris a rangy forward who really likes to play out on the perimeter. Harris still must get stronger was able to leak out in transition today for some cheapies. Harris can shoot the ball from behind the arc. Harris played on the Grassroots Circuit with the Soda City Spartans.

[player_tooltip player_id="1018679" first="Rettek" last="Owens"] - Mauldin HS

Owens really doesn’t have a true position on the floor. Owens just brings good versatility and toughness. Owens won’t overwhelm you with anyone thing he does on the floor. Owens will rebound on both ends of the floor or take charge, dive for a loose ball or hit a open shot. Owens is a player that every program should have a good role guy.

[player_tooltip player_id="594066" first="Leslie" last="Owens"] - Sumter HS

Owens is a very versatile who can play all over the floor. Owens continues to improve his game and it will interesting to see what position he plays down the road. Owens can handle the rock some, defend multiple positions and hit open shots from 15-17 feet. Owens is just one of the several juniors on the Gamecocks roster this season for Head Coach Bryan Brown.

[player_tooltip player_id="930621" first="Ryan" last="Hawkins"] - Dorman HS

Hawkins might be playing some on the wing this season with the Cavaliers already having plenty of talent in the backcourt. Hawkins played at Oakbrook Prep the past few seasons. Hawkins is a deceptive athlete and has really good length. Hawkins plays the game very hard and really competes at a high level.

Daniel Lee - Fort Dorchester HS

Lee was a new name for me this weekend. Lee showed some BIG-TIME BOUNCE on a dunk today. Lee looked to attack the rack whenever possible here at the Top 250 Expo.

[player_tooltip player_id="1063826" first="Jamie" last="Muldowney"] - Trinity Collegiate (Darlington)

Prep Hoops wasn’t able to see Muldowney play as he went down with a ankle injury during the day.
