To preview the 2020-21 high school basketball season, Prep Hoops Wisconsin looks at some of the best prospects in the 2021 graduating class. First, we take a look at six of the top senior point guards:

I think that Iowa State got a really special player in Hunter. People around the state have known how good Hunter is for a couple of years, and I think that the rest of the nation is finally starting to catch up. The point guard is a terrific athlete who is super exciting to watch. But of course, he does not just rely on his athletic ability. He also has a lot of skill. Hunter is a really good scorer, underrated passer, and an above-average defender. I expect Hunter to become a really good player at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="929231" first="Kobe" last="Johnson"] -- 6-foot-5 -- Nicolet

Johnson is a super intriguing prospect. He went from not earning significant minutes on varsity as a freshman to becoming a sure-fire high major player (Johnson recently committed to USC). The PG has really good size for his position, which he has used to become a lockdown defender and dominate offensive weapon. On offense, Johnson is a really good passer and slasher. On defense, he uses his long arms to tip passes and cause chaos.

[player_tooltip player_id="879981" first="Kamari" last="McGee"] -- 5-foot-10 -- Racine St. Catherines

I came into this summer not knowing a ton about McGee as a player. I left loving everything about his game. The point guard is a gritty, hard-nosed player who is a pest on the court. McGee is the type of prospect that will get under the skin of just about every other player on the opposing team. He is an amazing on-ball defender and a really good finisher at the rim. He gets steals on defense that leads to easy layups on offense. McGee -- who recently committed to UW-Green Bay -- won’t always be the most talented player on the court. But I do know that he is willing to play hard enough to become the best player on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="879980" first="Ben" last="Nau"] -- 6-foot-1 -- Brookfield Central

Nau is never going to put up huge numbers. He is never going to be the biggest star on the team. But, the Brookfield Central point guard will always help his team win games. Nau is a good ball handler that rarely ever makes big mistakes. He is also a knockdown shooter who plays very tough defense. In college, I expect Nau to become a solid player who will always impact winning.

[player_tooltip player_id="804901" first="Jakobe" last="Thompson"] -- 6-foot-1 -- Racine Case

Thompson might be the best pure scorer on this list. When he gets the ball in his hands, Thompson becomes a very dangerous player that not too many defenders will volunteer to guard. The Racine Case point guard is the perfect example of what a true three-level scorer looks like. If Thompson is able to become even more efficient as a senior, then I predict he will end up on a college scholarship.

[player_tooltip player_id="879990" first="Dustin" last="Beauprey"] -- 6-foot-3 -- Mountain Top Christian Academy

Beauprey was one of the biggest winners of the 2020 summer AAU period. The WSU commit has a good handle, underrated quickness, and the strength to match up against different positions. He is a dead-eye shooter from deep and also very slippery when he drives to the rim. This summer, Beauprey proved that the big numbers he puts up during the winter are not just the product of bad competition.
