The Our Saviour Lutheran (OSL) basketball program has been synonymous with winning and producing high-level talent, this season won’t be any different. Recently, the program graduated their dynamic backcourt of [player_tooltip player_id="766078" first="Posh" last="Alexander"] and [player_tooltip player_id="914099" first="Dylan" last="Wusu"], who both attend St. John’s University. In most scenarios, we would assume losing over 40 points per game may present some sort of drop-off, but Coach Pete and his staff have reloaded and look primed to make a run in The Grind Session.

National Team Notables

’22 6’3" SG [player_tooltip player_id="787646" first="Jaquan" last="Sanders"] has grown physically since last spring but more importantly, he’s taken his game to a new level. He continues to be an excellent shot maker but what impressed me most was his ability to see the floor and execute as a playmaker. He currently holds offers from St. John’s, UMass, Hofstra, Creighton, Bryant, Illinois, Xavier, and Manhattan.

’21 6’5" SG Maximus Edwards is a strong downhill slasher with the ability to beat you at all three levels. His motor and strength set him apart from most. Max college offers include Kansas State, Seton Hall, UMass, Quinnipiac, Towson, Fairfield, Sacred Heart, Robert Morris, Bryant, and Hofstra.

’23 6’5" Point Forward [player_tooltip player_id="992508" first="Jahmere" last="Tripp"] provides offensive versatility to the program. He excels as a playmaker and benefits from his ability to defend multiple positions. He should see a good amount of time at the point guard position this season. LSU, Stony Brook, St. Peter’s, Nebraska, UMass, and Norfolk State have all extended offers.

’22 7’1" C [player_tooltip player_id="1045929" first="Silas" last="Sunday"] is the big man in the middle. He’s trimmed down a good amount since last season and seems to be moving well. He rebounds everything in his area and finishes efficiently in the paint. He will be the much needed interior anchor this season. Silas has received offers from Rutgers, Manhattan, Wake Forest, St. John’s Illinois, Bryant, Nebraska, and Kansas State.

’22 6’6" SF [player_tooltip player_id="1045939" first="Sadiku" last="Ayo"] is the definition of a versatile two-way player. He shot it well from the perimeter and guarded 1-5 on the other end. The three-star prospect currently holds offers from St. John’s, Auburn, Manhattan, Bryant, Nebraska, and Seton Hall.

’21 6’6" SG Daniel Rivera is a skilled prospect. He moves very well in space and creates scoring opportunities off the ball. In addition, he’s a threat off the dribble as a scorer and passer. Daniel currently holds offers from Saint Louis and Manhattan.

’22 6’4" CG [player_tooltip player_id="1045928" first="Jason" last="Steele"] is an intriguing prospect who competes on both ends. He scored from all three levels but also locked in defensively. He currently has an offer from Manhattan.

’21 6’4" SG Michael Quick Jr is a long athletic prospect and was clearly the most explosive player in the gym. He had a number of spectacular plays and finishes at the rim.
