Ra’Saun Nichols | Columbia, MO | Class of 2025
First and foremost, Nichols used his athleticism to stand out at this event. The six-foot guard was able to consistently beat defenders off the bounce to get into the lane and finish at an impressive rate. As one of the fastest end-to-end players at the Midwest Invitational Camp, Nichols excelled in transition, where his physical tools shined the brightest. He’s starred locally with Mid-MO Elite, and will need to continue to hone his all-around skills as well as focus on his shooting mechanics, but Nichols appears ready to challenge himself against elite competition at the state level and perhaps beyond.
Nicholas Randall | St. Louis, MO | Class of 2025
Randall earned the most buzz of any player in attendance at the Midwest Invitational Camp. Standing 6-foot-6, the skilled forward displayed a soft shooting touch extending to the perimeter and demonstrated excellent hands as a rebounder. More smooth than explosive, Randall is a two-footed leaper off the floor, but swallowed up loose balls and flashed exceptional vision and passing touch. The main critique of his game is that he looked bored at times. He’s at his best when engaged, making an effort to play rim-to-rim, and showing a willingness to capitalize on his advantages close to the basket. He simply needs to do it more often.
Aaron Rowe | Columbia, MO | Class of 2025
Rowe is emerging on the national radar as a bonafide point guard prospect. The blossoming floor general is carrying a lot of length on his 5-foot-10 frame, is extremely shifty and slippery off the bounce, easily gets to where he wants to go on the court, and is an astute finisher in the lane. At the Midwest Invitational Camp, defenders were left powerless, and Rowe’s only kryptonite appeared to be his inability to find consistency with his jumper. The next step is holding him accountable to be more vocal with his teammates, but his feel and creativity are elite, and his physical projection is outstanding.
Evan Sterck | St. Louis, MO | Class of 2025
A 6-foot-2 guard with a confident demeanor and advanced all-around game, Sterck was easily among the top performers at the Midwest Invitational Camp. A versatile backcourt prospect, Sterck already looks equipped to contribute at the high school varsity level. He can handle the ball in the halfcourt, scores from different areas on the floor, and can make the appropriate pass when called upon. While his offensive game is refined, Sterck will need to focus on improving his physical limitations, specifically his lateral quickness on the defensive side of the ball. He’s a mature competitor who is well ahead of the curve at this stage.
Avian Webb | Kansas City, KS | Class of 2025
Webb finds ways to shine in individual settings again and again, and the Midwest Invitational Camp was no different. The 5-foot-10 combo guard is a natural scorer, with the ability to create space with his handle, and sufficient shooting touch off the bounce. He needs to become a more consistent finisher in the lane and develop an understanding of how to further utilize his teammates. A recent move from his rural hometown of Atchison to Kansas City should put Webb in a better position to find competition more regularly. Further cultivating his mentality as a point guard will allow Webb to thrive at the next level.
