This weekend I attended Gerry Freitas Arizona Fall Shootout at Williams Field HS in Gilbert, AZ.

There were many California teams including many of the top teams from the San Diego area.

Here were some of the So-Cal senior standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id="951231" first="Alex" last="Crawford"] Coronado (SD) (Coastal Slayers Elite) (Pictured)

-A run and jump athlete that makes it look easy in the open court way above the rim. He needs to add weight and strength but he moves fluidly around the court and has a lot of natural upside. He can shoot it to the 3pt line with range and hit from mid-range. He rebounds well in his area and his athleticism allows him to play on the wing defensively and play inside to spring up to rebound.

[player_tooltip player_id="680217" first="AJ" last="Burgin"] San Diego (Gamepoint Elite)

-Another impressive weekend for the Idaho State commit. He shot the ball well from deep per usual, but his play-making abilities and on-ball defense plus help defense really changed many games. He made many next level passes to facilitate and his length, IQ and size affected almost every guard who went against him.

[player_tooltip player_id="747090" first="Caleb" last="Nelson"] Carlsbad (Coastal Slayers Elite)

-One of the more consistent shooting forwards off the catch. He plays with a big motor and has impressive athleticism in the open court. He can play inside but is mostly a face-up type. He rebounds well in and out of his area and spaces the floor.

Alton Dubois SG 6’3 Balboa Prep (Supreme Court)

-A true 3 and D guard with decent size and length. He is extremely quick laterally to defend on the ball and has a nice looking 3pt shot. He can make the runner and has a nice floater plus brings a lot of energy. He makes smart reads and you don’t see him force too many shots as he plays within himself.

[player_tooltip player_id="680242" first="Melo" last="Sanchez"] Mater Dei (SD) (Gamepoint Elite)

-A long shooter has leaned out in the last year. He reportedly has lost 20+ lbs and he can shoot it easy from the 3pt line. He can finish off layups with either hand and has good footwork to score inside or create a shot for himself. He is also a very underrated passer and has high IQ/good feel for the game.

Solomon Little PG 6’2 Balboa Prep (Supreme Court)

-A defensive PG with great speed. He is a drive and kick type of player that doesn’t shoot the ball too much. He can hit the catch-3 and straight line drive to the rim for a layup. His natural quickness and speed allows him to be a pest on the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="747103" first="Hayden" last="Gray"] Santa Fe Christian (Gamepoint Elite)

-A true combo guard is a left- or right-hand passer with precision. He has huge hands and keeps his dribble alive in tighter spaces and can make a play for others or drive it in to score it. He makes catch-3’s fairly consistent and can pull-up off the dribble from mid-range. He is also sneaky athletic.

Lenz Dupont SG 6’4 Balboa Prep (Supreme Court)

-A true specialist from the 3pt line has good size and is one of the better guard bodies out there at 200+ lbs. He has good speed and length plus is super consistent beyond the arc. He makes smart decisions with the ball and plays unselfishly.

[player_tooltip player_id="747104" first="Keatten" last="Smith"] SG 6’3 Santa Fe Christian (Gamepoint Elite)

-One of the top shooters at the tourney is very consistent. He smartly sets up before he catches the ball and will relocate to an open spot to shoot. He plays a smart floor game and just knows the game with a high IQ.
