CP3 Basketball Academy Mini-Camp: Class of 2026 Rewind

Winston-Salem, N.C. — Coverage of the inaugural CP3 Basketball Academy Mini-Camp continues with a recap of the most impressive players in attendance from the Class of 2026. The event quickly filled to capacity, with nearly 50 of the top prospects from across the state and beyond committing to compete in the action. Here’s a look at a handful of 7th graders to keep an eye on in the Carolinas in the coming years…

Ashton Pierce | Huntersville, NC | Class of 2026

Pierce has earned recognition statewide for his scoring ability and his reclassification into the Class of 2026 has helped his confidence reach new levels. The 6-foot guard can get hot in a hurry on the perimeter but he also demonstrated the ability to attack the rim off the bounce. A creative finisher, Pierce also showed proficient touch shooting the ball from multiple spots on the floor, and handled the ball well enough to consistently create scoring opportunities for himself. He’s a bit ahead of the curve physically, which is a big advantage for him currently, but he’ll need to continue adding dimensions to his playmaking repertoire.

Treven Raymon | Rock Hill, SC | Class of 2026

The 6-foot-4 forward has excellent physical upside and simply has the look of a player poised to turn the corner in a major way. Raymond is extremely agile, moved with ease in the open court, and was also comfortable facing the basket offensively. He was most effective attacking from the high post, utilizing his ability to put the ball on the floor and finish, but also showcasing his promising shooting touch that extends to the perimeter. There is certainly wing potential in Raymond’s game as his lateral quickness and explosiveness continue to improve. He is a name to remember and closely monitor.

Aiden Smalls | Raleigh, NC | Class of 2026

A confident combo guard with striking quickness, change of speed, and a knack for scoring, Smalls could emerge as one of the state’s best playmakers at the high school level in the coming years. At the CP3 Basketball Academy Mini-Camp, he shined by consistently beating defenders off the dribble and displaying a variety of finishes in the lane, but also earned attention by exhibiting his ability to be a menace on the defensive end of the floor. The next steps for this promising backcourt competitor are showing improved consistency with his jumper and enhanced understanding of the point guard position.

Kota Suttle | Atlanta, GA | Class of 2026

Suttle brought the best set of intangibles to the floor of any player at the CP3 Basketball Academy Mini-Camp. The Georgia native is strong, tough, and capable of scoring and facilitating in transition as well as halfcourt settings. He has an aggressive mentality on both sides of the court, constantly applying pressure to opponents with the ball in hands, and brings great energy and intensity as a defender. The son of former All-American linebacker and Furman University Hall of Fame inductee by the same name, Suttle has an exceptional athletic pedigree and should have a bright future ahead.

Andrew ‘AJ’ Washington | Fort Mill, SC | Class of 2026

Washington had his full scoring arsenal on display at the CP3 Basketball Academy Mini-Camp. The 6-foot-3 wing possesses impressive size and length, and put simply, is a bucket-hunter that can turn digits on the scoreboard. While Washington was guilty of some ill-advised shots, he did an excellent job of producing at all three levels, and drew fouls at a steady rate. As a perimeter prospect, he is a determined scorer that has a number of tools at his disposal, but the steady progression of his playmaking skills and all-around versatility will make Washington an even more formidable match-up moving forward.
