As a big guy myself, I always have an affinity for those big bodied ballers who know how to get it done on the basketball court. Their body types may suggest that they play just football, but they know how to maneuver their way around on the hardwood. Here is my Class of 2021 All Thick-Bodied Starting Five.

Starting Five

Point Guard: [player_tooltip player_id="824182" first="Mikhai" last="Howard"] 6’0 Webb City: A very skilled combo guard who uses his physical strength to muscle smaller guards out of the way, but he also has the ability to get buckets at all three levels. He plays the game with excellent pace and he has a high basketball IQ to go along with it.

Wing: [player_tooltip player_id="583723" first="Keyren" last="Spiller"] 6’4" Center: A big-bodied wing who is one of the most versatile players in the state. He has solid playmaking skills with his ball handling and passer to go along with a very effective perimeter jumper. When he wants to go inside in the post, he has the skills and physical strength to get buckets.

Wing: [player_tooltip player_id="824185" first="Emmanuel" last="McLemore"] 6’4" Wentzville Holt: A versatile combo forward-wing who had an excellent summer playing for the St. Louis Cobras Elite A.N.M. He was a consistent double-double throughout the summer as he combined his skills and physicality to become a big matchup problem.

Forward: Donnie Ray Brown 6’7" New Madrid Central: A strong 240-pounder who is one of the top shooting bigs in the state. He can really stretch out the defense with his 3-point shooting. He will also hit you with a jab step to create space to shoot his perimeter shot. He can also score in the post with his size and big body. He is also an elite passer with excellent vision and the ability to hit cutters with pinpoint passing.

Forward: [player_tooltip player_id="824173" first="Lucas" last="Morrison"] 6’9" Salem: One of the biggest players in the state who checks in at about 280-pounds. When he asserts himself in the low post, people start moving around like furniture. He establishes great position in the paint and can catch and ball and score with his soft shooting touch around the basket.
