South Iron High standout Brick Wakefield gave a verbal commitment to The Citadel, a Division l program located in Charleston, South Carolina.
The 6’4” Wakefield is currently No. 10 in the latest Prep Hoops Missouri Class of 2021 rankings. He also had other Division l offers from programs such as Elon, UMKC and West Point.
Entering his fourth season as a varsity starter, Wakefield has been a Class 1 All-State selection for three consecutive years.
As a junior, Wakefield averaged 21 points and seven rebounds a game to lead South Iron to a 29-1 record and a district championship. Wakefield spent the grassroots season playing for the Gateway Basketball Club 17U Team.
