With 295 prospects highlighted, the 2023 class is shaping up to be quite special. Spearheading the group is power forward [player_tooltip player_id="709219" first="Matthew" last="Bewley"]. The 6-foot-8 West Oaks star is the best player I have seen currently on the high school circuit. Bewley is going to be well documented and I am excited to see his progression as a sophomore.

Moving off the top list, this class has a lot of players on the verge of breaking out. I would like to feature some kids after the top 100 who I feel you should be on the lookout for.

[player_tooltip player_id="1060168" first="Tomas" last="Koski"] - Mater Lakes Academy (PH: 176)

The Bears have had an active off-season with Koski joining the fold. The 6-foot-4 Koski is a versatile playmaker who will stretch the floor and knock down shots from the outside. Moreover, Mater Lakes Academy has Top 30 guards [player_tooltip player_id="709231" first="Anthony" last="Floyd"] and Jamai Tejada who should soften a defense and create space for Koski to spot-up from the outside. This also could be a factor when the Bears run out in transition. In both situations, Koski could play a huge role in the second half of games when the outcome is in the balance. The Bears went 16-12 last season before falling to University School in the district quarterfinals.

[player_tooltip player_id="962724" first="Sebastian" last="Saint-Louis"] - Boca Raton (PH 213)

With 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="953502" first="Bob" last="Stewart"] joining St. Andrew’s, who will step up for the Bobcats? One prospect that could fill the void is power forward [player_tooltip player_id="962724" first="Sebastian" last="Saint-Louis"]. Right off the bat, Saint-Louis has very good size at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds. With a solid physical frame to work with, Saint-Louis will only get stronger as he progresses in his years. Therefore, Saint-Louis should be more of a factor on both sides of the glass. I am interested to see his development as he plays more minutes and gets more repetitions.

[player_tooltip player_id="962859" first="Josh" last="Middlebrooks"] - South Miami (PH 185)

From a team standpoint, the Cobras have a fantastic group returning with 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="818672" first="Arturo" last="Dean"] leading the charge. For context, South Miami went 22-6 last season before falling in the state playoffs to Mater Academy Charter. One player that could push them past that mark is [player_tooltip player_id="962859" first="Josh" last="Middlebrooks"]. The 6-foot-2 guard/forward averaged 6.3 points per game in limited data according to MaxPreps. Against Southridge, Middlebrooks showed his explosive ability with 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting. If I am anyone on South Miami, I am picking the brain of D-1 Dean and working hard off him in practices. Middlebrooks is just one player that should take advantage.

[player_tooltip player_id="1060260" first="Cole" last="McCabe"] - Miami Country Day (PH 196)

Moving over from Miami Beach, McCabe has some serious size to work with at 6-foot-7. The Spartan forward joins a strong group that already has 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="818876" first="Jordan" last="Cooke"] and 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709245" first="Jasai" last="Miles"]. With those pair of stars, McCabe should see opportunities to make his presence felt. As I mentioned at the beginning, you cant teach his kind of length at this level.

[player_tooltip player_id="962574" first="Landon" last="Suare"]z - Riviera Prep (PH 198)

The Bulldogs are another Miami area team with high expectations this season. Riviera Prep went 24-7 behind budding stars [player_tooltip player_id="709232" first="Osmar" last="Garcia Araujo"] and Esteban Luberes. In addition, another player that could help the Bulldogs is [player_tooltip player_id="962574" first="Landon" last="Suare"]z. The 5-foot-11 point guard averaged 5.5 points per game across 26 games last season. Against Palmer Trinity, Suarez scored a season-high 20 points and knocked down six 3-pointers. In total, Suarez hit 40 3-pointers according to MaxPreps. Having playing time in his back pocket and great teammates make Suarez an interesting player to watch.
