September is here and it is a great time to get the weekly column started back up again. This week I covered the uncertainty surrounding the LSU program, Pittsburgh’s chances in 2021 and a couple VCU targets.

“With the new allegations at LSU involving Will Wade, what are your thoughts on the possibilities of 2020 commitments transferring? ”-@mowentz

There are certainly a lot of question marks surrounding the LSU Men’s Basketball program at the moment and the future is somewhat up in the air as the NCAA nor the University have not penalized Will Wade and the program yet. If there were to be some type of penalty for the Tigers and that seems inevitable at this point, I definitely would think we would see a lot of movement with the roster Will Wade has constructed.

“Any update on [player_tooltip player_id="990933" first="Nisine" last="Poplar"] or [player_tooltip player_id="838020" first="Kuluel" last="Mading"]? Both seem to be heavy VCU targets ”-@RVA_Ram36

It has been a little hard to get a read on Poplar as he has a slew of high major offers. VCU has definitely done its due diligence but I do not know if they are about to close on him. As of right now, if I were to guess, my guess would be Poplar ends up at a SEC school but it is still very early and without any visits being able to happen everything seems up in the air.

I hate not giving you a more definite answer but just like Poplar, Madings recruitment is a little unknown. Mading started to look like he might end up at a mid major school but as it has gotten later, more high major schools are starting to get involved. With not that much fall recruiting being able to happen, not that much is known about Mading.

“Who will be Pitts first 2021 recruit?”-@dyarksky

That is a million dollar question as things have been quite quiet for the Pitt Panthers in the 2021 class. They have not pulled the trigger yet on offering 2021 Semani Fuller but he is someone to watch for as they have ramped up the contact with him. A dark horse is 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="543840" first="Efton" last="Reid"] as Pitt has made a strong push for the 7 footer.
