<p>We are less than a week away from releasing our updated rankings. A lot has happened since our last installment of the state’s rankings. Stock risers have risen and we have had a fe move in’s that have asserted themselves in notable positions. </p>
<p>We would also like to acknowledge that Utah is one of the only states in the west that is actually allowing sports to be played with some restrictions. This has allowed us to view a lot of players in our backyard. The high school season is upon us as the football season seems to be going well as players, fans and coaches a like are safe and healthy.</p>
<p>Utah’s 2021 Class has some solid prospects from top to bottom. 7 of the top 10 home grown prospects are all 6’7 and up with versatile game. All 7 prospects hold Division 1 offers. </p>
<p>When it comes to guards that can play Utah has a nice group of players that bring different attributes to the table. </p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="543098" first="Jordan" last="Toscano"] (Bingahm) can really run a team with his ability to penetrate and create for himself and other. [player_tooltip player_id="543077" first="Noa" last="Gonsalves"] (Lehi) is electric as he can really explode with some nice athleticism. [player_tooltip player_id="755623" first="Trace" last="Ross"] (Corner Canyon) can really read defenses and put himself in ideal scoring situations. [player_tooltip player_id="933803" first="Isaac" last="Finlinson"] (Dixie) is poised and controlled as he can hurt you with his length and sneaky quickness. [player_tooltip player_id="755615" first="Talon" last="Valdes"] (Juan Diego) is a player that can score in a flurry with his speed. </p>
<p>There are some solid bigs that are still a bit under-recruited.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="933802" first="Hunter" last="Phillips"] (Westlake) has size and skill. He has a good ceiling to continue to improve. Jackson Shuman (Sky View) is another player that comes to mind as he can really clog up the middle and shoot from the outside on offense. [player_tooltip player_id="955304" first="Elijah" last="Crockett"] (West) is another solid prospect that has length and skill. </p>
<p>Don’t forget about these impressive two sport athletes that can play at the highest level in either football or basketball. </p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="933800" first="Isaac" last="Vaha"] (Pleasant Grove) is one of the top D1 talents in the state in football and basketball doesn’t take a back seat either. [player_tooltip player_id="755619" first="Parker" last="Buchanan"] (Box Elder) is another player that can really play at an elite level on the field and on the court. Can’t forget about the speedy [player_tooltip player_id="968116" first="Luke" last="Hyde"] (Woods Cross) who can really play elite defense in both sports. </p>
<p>In this years class there will be some talented players that will have a higher number next to their name but that shouldn’t diminish the fact that they could play at the next level. There are a lot of solid prospects from top to bottom. </p>
<p>When it comes to some of the players on the top there are players like [player_tooltip player_id="755612" first="Ethan" last="Potter"] (Layton) that have really asserted themselves this off-season. [player_tooltip player_id="755614" first="Jake" last="Wahlin"] (Timpview) has also made a case for himself as he keeps racking up some big time offers. [player_tooltip player_id="755629" first="Carter" last="Welling"] (Corner Canyon) and [player_tooltip player_id="755620" first="Jaden" last="Brownell"] (Alta) are a few other players that have made big jumps in their play. </p>
