The Fullcourt All West Camp kicked off last Saturday in St George, Utah. Hosted by recruiting legend Dinos Trigonis, the camp featured 240 of the top players on the West Coast. After watching Bam Adebayo’s game winning block the other night, it got me thinking RIM PROTECTORS ARE VALUABLE. In this article PH takes a look at the top Rim Protectors from the All West Camp.

[player_tooltip player_id="987239" first="Christian" last="Bento"] 6’11 C Bishop Gorman 2021 (#38PHN 2021) - At nearly 7 feet Bento’s makes an impact on the game with his ability to alter and block shots. He’s not the best athlete, however he has a good defensive IQ and is willing to come over and challenge anything in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id="533057" first="Anthony" last="Swift"] 6’7 PF Desert Pines 2021 (#5PHN 2021) - Swift is the top rim protector in Nevada and probably one of the top ones on the West Coast. Plays with a relentless motor allowing him to get chase down and help side blocks. One of the rare 3 level shot blockers as he’s also able to block shots when defending opponents 1 on 1.

[player_tooltip player_id="966026" first="Preston" last="Squire"] 6’11 C Layton 2021 (#11PHU 2021) - Squire is such a high IQ defensive player that he always seems to be in the right spot. He does a good job of staying vertical and forcing opponents to finish around his frame. He didn’t have a ton of blocks, however few players altered as many shots as he did.

Alpha Chibambe 6’5 SF JSerra (CA) 2022 (#37PHSC 2022) - Chibambe is a big time athlete that loves to come over from the weakside to play Volleyball with opponents shot attempts. He has a tremendous 2nd jump which keeps him in nearly every play. A big strong athlete, the 6’5 wing is comfortable defending post players as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="934472" first="Collin" last="Chandler"] 6’4 SG Farmingto (CO) 2022 (#4PHU 2022) - Chandler is an explosive athlete, that excels at getting chase down blocks. When he gets, there, it’s with bad intentions. I saw Chandler absolutely destroy a basketball off the glass in the Top 25 game.

[player_tooltip player_id="1022287" first="Khaman" last="Maker"] 7’1 C Desert Valley Prep 2021 (featured image) - 7’1 is 7’1 and Maker is every inch of that. He plays with a carefree style and seems to genuinely loves contesting and blocking shots. Offensive players already have a hard time figuring out what to do against him when they enter the lane, As he grows into his body, and improves his athleticism, I expect even more confusion.
