<p>PrepHoops<em> <a href="https://prephoops.com/texas/rankings/2021-rankings/">2021 Texas Rankings</a></em> dropped earlier this week and 19 players from the San Antonio-Metroplex made the list. Antonian Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id="779885" first="Gavino" last="Ramos"] (#21), Wagner Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id="779898" first="Ja’Sean" last="Jackson"] (#37), and Antonian Shooting Guard [player_tooltip player_id="887050" first="Bryon" last="Armstrong"] (#59) highlight the group of players who were already included in the rankings, with 16 new names added in the latest update.</p>

An uber-athletic and explosive guard, Sherman is raw as a prospect but one who is oozing with potential. Plays strong above the rim and has developed a nice mid-range shot. Sherman will play his first season of varsity ball this year with Wagner. </li>

Jonhson's huge junior year playing for Johnson HS earned him a<em> TABC 6A Region 4 All-Region Team</em> selection, as well as <em>District 27-6A MVP</em>.</li>

Can be a knockdown specialist from three-point territory and can put up points in a hurry. The offense can play through Benhayoune, as he shows great awareness and court vision with the ball in his hands. Plays physical in the paint, he's a technician in the low post and does a great job of gobbling up rebounds. Benhayoune was selected to <em>TABC 6A Region 4 All-Region Team</em>, as well as <em>District 28-6A Offensive MVP</em>.</li>

Has great anticipation and bounce when protecting the rim and bringing down rebounds. Has very strong hands. On offense, Wilson shines on dunks and finishes at the rim. Can be a threat in the pick-and-roll game. Wilson was selected to <em>TABC 6A Region 4 All-Region Team</em>.</li>

A technically sound player who plays extremely hard on defense and can guard several positions. On offense, Carlisle does a lot of his damage in the mid-range and in the paint, but he also possesses a deep-range shot where he can hit off the dribble or in spot-up opportunities. Earned <em>All-District 27-6A First Team</em>.</li>

Washington has a quick and high release point, giving him the ability to hit shots with defenders in his face. Overall a smooth playmaker who knows how to get to his spots and has great body control around the basket. </li>

Can be a lockdown defender on the perimeter, and also does a great job as a help-side shot-blocker in the paint. Not overly quick, but he is a bulldog on offense using his strength to get past opponents and to the basket. Earned <em>All-District 27-6A First Team.</em></li>

He does a lot of things the right way on the court and is the type of player every team wants and needs. </li>

Has a good mid-range pull-up shot, and was lethal from three-point territory shooting 41% from beyond-the-arc as a junior. Is good at penetrating the lane and finishing at the rim, or kicking it to open teammates. Shows good court awareness and vision with the ball in his hands.</li>

Just scratching the surface of this offensive potential, but shows great burst and leaping ability on his dunks. </li>

Does a good job of making decisions and shows great vision on his passes out of the pick-and-roll offense. Has a quick first step, and can get to the rim where he is a smooth finisher. He's also a really good deep-range shooter, where he is a threat from anywhere beyond-the-arc. Whidbee was selected to <em>TABC 4A Region 4 All-Region Team,</em> as well as <em>District 28-4A Offensive MVP</em>.</li>

Jackson is also a great defender, creating turnovers and steals with his quickness, anticipation, and active hands. Earned <em>All-District 27-6A First Team</em>.</li>

Smith is a true athlete on the court, and it shows in the open court when he attacks the basket where he can be an acrobatic and creative finisher. On defense, he flashes with great short-area quickness and anticipation. Is one of the best players in the area at finishing in transition and a real threat on fast-break opportunities.</li>

Has a locked-in mindset on both offense and defense, and we could see a huge leap in his progression as a prospect during his senior year for Wagner.</li>

<li>Reid is a technically sound wing prospect who can light it up from three-point territory. Averaged 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists for New Braunfels last season. Reid has a picturesque shot and is a real threat as a shooter from both the mid-range and beyond-the-arc. He can score in a variety of ways and is particularly a great weapon as a catch-and-shoot player. He plays strong and fast on the court and shows to have a high basketball IQ. Reid will be the focal point of New Braunfels offense this upcoming season and could have a breakout senior year. </li>
