After a state championship at the 1A DII level last season, the Lakeside Knights will look for another great season in 2020-21. Lakeside absolutely dominated the competition in the 2019-20 season with a 5-0 conference record and an impressive 24-0 overall record under head coach James Twoteeth. The Knights will look to their deep bench to help them again this year after only graduating a handful of players. Lakeside will move up to the 1A DI division next season along with rival Genesis Prep where there is sure to be lots of great competition. Lakeside is known for playing fast and routinely put up scores in the 80’s and 90’s on their way to an undefeated season. Continue reading for a breakdown of a few players to watch for the Knights next season.

Kenyon Spotted Horse, 2021: Kenyon will look to help the Knights reach the state championship again this season with his spectacular guard play. The 6’0" point guard averaged a little above 15 points per game last season along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Spotted Horse can do it all for Lakeside and has the ability to score from all over the court, push the ball in transition, make great passes, and play in the passing lanes for lots of steals. Kenyon finishes well around the rim with both hands and has the ability to knockdown the open jumper. Watch for Kenyon to lead the Knights to another state championship appearance as he does it all for the Knights.

[player_tooltip player_id="554733" first="Day" last="Day Higgins"], 2021: The reigning conference player of the year, Higgins is a force for the Knights who will be a big contributor in the upcoming season. At 6’8", Higgins will be a match-up nightmare at the 1A DI level next season and has the game to compliment his height. Day Day is extremely patient in the post and is willing to kick the ball out and re-seal if necessary. He is active on the offensive and defensive glass and routinely picks up a double-double. One of Higgins’ greatest skills is his ability to kick the ball out to open shooters and then establish rebounding position to clean up any loose boards. Day Day will lead the Knights in 2020-21 and will look to grab another conference player of the year trophy before the season is over.
