We are in unprecedented times due to the pandemic. This obviously includes sports as well, from the professional level and all the way down. The NBA has done an excellent job keeping players safe, while still keeping the games and season going. The Bubble in the NBA has accomplished it’s goal so far. What if Michigan high school basketball had a bubble? What players would we want to make sure to see play in our bubble? Well, here’s a look at players from the class of 2021 that we’d want to make sure are there.

[player_tooltip player_id="811091" first="Pierre" last="Brooks"] Jr. (SG, Detroit Frederick Douglass)

We have to see the highest basketball IQ in the midwest in our Michigan Bubble! He’s a special player that can shoot from anywhere and make plays with his mind as well as with his skills.

[player_tooltip player_id="611404" first="Kobe" last="Bufkin"] (SG, Grand Rapids Christian)

Bufkin has got to be there. The University of Michigan commit is a smooth lefty that can bury an open jumper as well as fiish off a swooping drive.

[player_tooltip player_id="811132" first="Logan" last="Carson"] (PF, Buchanan)

Carson is an underrated, but rising post player. He can score in a variety of ways, facing the basket and otherwise.

[player_tooltip player_id="811107" first="Nate" last="Claerbaut"] (C, Zeeland East)

Everyone wants to see Claerbaut in our bubble, including college coaches. The skills in the paint are there, we just want to see if he can add muscle and bang under the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="611411" first="Parker" last="Day"] (PF, Saginaw Heritage)

Day is a must see prospect in the bubble. He’s a unique post player that many colleges should be, and are, taking a long hard look at.

[player_tooltip player_id="811093" first="Legend" last="Geeter"] (F, River Rouge)

Geeter has got to be there. He’s basically a positionless player and possibly the top 2 way player in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="814674" first="Jaylen" last="Hodges"] (PG, Bridgeport)

Not enough people have seen Hodges play, and the Michigan Bubble would be a great chance at that. He’s an athletic 3 level scorer that plays with flare.

[player_tooltip player_id="814563" first="David" last="Hughes"] (PF, Detroit Edison)

Hughes is a beast, and everyone wants that in the bubble. He’s an emphatic finisher and an old fashioned tough guy.

[player_tooltip player_id="811112" first="Brandon" last="Hunt"] (PF, Williamston)

Hunt would be must watch in the bubble. He’s a skilled and versatile post player that brings a lot to the table for his coach.

[player_tooltip player_id="814621" first="Thomas" last="Kurowski"] (SF, Sturgis)

Kurowski would thrive in this situation. He’s an underrated prospect that scouts and coaches want to see more of. He plays the entire length of the floor and can finish above the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="611420" first="Julian" last="Lewis"] (SG, Ann Arbor Huron)

There has to be defense in the Michigan Bubble, and Lewis is the guy to give it to us. He might be the top perimeter defender in the state, and he welcomes the opportunity to guard the opponents top perimeter scorer.

[player_tooltip player_id="811092" first="Julian" last="Roper"] (PG, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)

Roper is an elite point guard that is ready to thrive at the next level. We all need to see his playmaking and shot making abilities this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="814573" first="Aidan" last="Rubio"] (SF, Goodrich)

Rubio has been sending a message to the state of Michigan for a while now. He’s a 3 level scorer, active on the glass, and has developed into one of the top wing prospects in Michigan.

[player_tooltip player_id="811105" first="Marcus" last="Wourmann"] (PG, East Lansing)

Wourmann is an aggressive floor general that plays with grit. He’s a natural playmaker that has proven himself to come up big in the crucial moments of a game.

[player_tooltip player_id="611423" first="Omar" last="Ziegler"] (CG, Detroit King)

Ziegler is just plain and simply, fun to watch. The Michigan Bubble needs him in it. He’s a terrific 2 way player that is willing to play whatever role his coaches need him to take.
