Continue ReadingKash Lang is a 6’3″ shooting guard/point guard from the class of 2021. He plays for the Lewiston Bengals which compete at the 5A level in northern Idaho and will look to be a leader for the team in the 2020-21 season. Continue reading for a breakdown of Kash’s game from all angles.
Defense: Kash is a solid defender who can guard lots of different positions. At 6’3″, he is quick enough to give guards a tough time with his length, and also tall and strong enough to guard small forwards and some centers. Lang has long arms that he uses to give himself space and time to react to the moves of opposing players and he does a great job of keeping players in front of him. Kash is willing to slide over and take a charge and has a great sense for being in the right positions and playing help-side defense. Lang is constantly in the lane when a shot goes up and rebounds well for his size and position.
Offense: On the offensive side, Kash has great talent and will continue to improve his skills this season. He has a great jump shot from outside and can easily knock down an open three. His range extends to a few feet behind the line and he makes his defenders have to guard beyond the perimeter. Kash also has a smooth pull-up jumper which he uses when he can’t get all the way to the rim after beating his primary defender. At the rim, Lang does a great job of finishing tough layups with both hands, through contact, and over defenders. Lewiston loves to run an action that places Lang on the block and he does a great job of sealing and holding the seal once he can get the ball and finish over smaller defenders. Kash is a very solid offensive player for the Lewiston Bengals.
Overall: As a whole, Kash is a very solid basketball player and will give the Bengals a great shot at winning their district championship this season. He plays well on both sides of the ball and is a threat from all areas of the floor. I would expect him to increase his leadership role at Lewiston this season and will likely carry more of the scoring responsibilities as well. Kash Lang would make a great 2/3 at the next level and has a high ceiling for potential improvement.
