This past weekend was filled with great talent at the Oklahoma State Tournament in Oklahoma City. These were the top forwards that I was able to see as the weekend went on. I primarily focused on the 17u division but also got the chance to see a few 16u games as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="745386" first="Abraham" last="Aghasedo"] 2021 (Oklahoma Power)

Aghasedo is a force in the paint that is constantly getting his hands on the basketball whether it be from a dump-off pass, blocking a shot, or just coming down with a rebound for his team. He was a threat on the glass on both ends of the floor, fighting for extra possessions for his team and also defensively getting the ball quickly to his point guard to push the ball up the floor. Aghasedo is 6’7 with a strong build that can finish above the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="1031304" first="Bradyn" last="Hubbard"] 2022 (H&H Elite)

The Tulsa Memorial forward really caught my eye as the weekend went on. Hubbard has great touch around the basket and is able to show off his ability to handle it when he faces up in the mid-post. He proved he has some range this weekend by knocking in several shots from three. Hubbard is a big physical forward that brings it every game. He also knocked in a game-winning buzzer-beater shot late Saturday evening.

[player_tooltip player_id="1015832" first="Jacob" last="Mills"] 2021 (Tulsa Hawks Blue)

Mills is a 6’6 forward that is very active on the glass. This weekend he was able to grab tons of rebounds and outlet the ball to his guards to start the break. Mills is someone that can really open up the floor for his team and be a threat inside. Double-doubles come easy to Mills, he had several on the weekend and also had a very impressive putback dunk Saturday afternoon.

[player_tooltip player_id="1036992" first="Josh" last="Martin"] 2021 (OK Flight)

With soft touch around the rim and the ability to post up just about anyone, Martin was huge this weekend. Anytime I looked up he was working to gain position on the defense and get an open look in the paint. He really takes advantage of his size at 6’7 and has very long arms that allow him to come down with a lot of rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id="745360" first="Jackson" last="Skipper"] 2021 (BTR)

Skipper was a scoring force all weekend long. Several times I would look over and he was running the break and either laying it up off the glass or punching the ball through the rim using his athleticism. Skipper is long and can take you off the bounce or show off his range from three. He was impressive on the defensive end as well, he was able to affect a lot of shots and was active on the glass.

Declan Ryan 2022 (NEBC)

Ryan was a player that affected every game due to his presence inside, and his ability to track down rebounds both on the offensive and defensive glass. He is a solid post that has soft hands which allows him to catch passes and finish with ease. Ryan has great touch around the basket which helps him to score in the post whenever he wants.
