Max Christie Max Christie 6'4" | SG Rolling Meadows | 2021 State #12 Nation IL (Rolling Meadows – 2021)
The top ranked prospect in the state played like it in the scrimmage. Christie came out on fire drilling feathery jumpers. Hit them from three and pulling up from mid-range keeping his defender off balance rising on a dime. The Michigan State commit is just uber skilled being able to handle it well with either hand getting to the cup where he finished with creative layups and euro steps. Had a couple put backs in the game as well. Put his complete skill set on display in this one.
Anthony Sayles Anthony Sayles 6'2" | PG Niles Notre Dame | 2021 State #167 Nation IL (Niles Notre Dame – 2021)
The top point guard in the class continues to impress each and every time out. Sayles did it all from his lead guard spot in the scrimmage. Crisp passing early setting up his shooters and big men. One concern of college coaches has been his perimeter shooting. He drilled four triples in this game. Sayles is a more than capable shooter! Used his athleticism and burst getting to the rim for scoop shots. Complete guard that can pass and score. No brainer at the mid-major plus level!
Conor Enright Conor Enright 6'1" | PG Mundelein | 2021 State IL (Mundelein – 2021)
The Drake commit played some on the ball and some off the ball. Pushed it in the open floor when he had opportunities throwing dimes to shooters. Had a nice spinning layup in the lane.
Chris Hodges Chris Hodges 6'7" | C Schaumburg | 2021 State #84 Nation IL (Schaumburg – 2021)
Hodges is a big man with power and improving athleticism. He used his strength to go through defenders at times garnering deep post position on the catch. Rebounded well in his area. Flashed being able to handle it a little. Jumper didn’t fall in this game.
Denham Wojcik (La Lumiere, IN – 2021)
The Harvard commit from Indiana brings toughness and leadership to the table. High level passer and decision maker that got all his weapons involved. Mixed in a three and scoop shot. Also took a charge.
Louis Lesmond Louis Lesmond 6'5" | SF Niles Notre Dame | 2021 State #163 Nation IL (Niles Notre Dame – 2021)
Lesmond is the other Harvard commit from the Wolves. This athletic two guard connected on three triples in the 17U scrimmage. Smooth stroke with an easy release. Played some on the ball as well looking comfortable initiating the offense. Posted his man up for a bucket and crashed the glass for a monster tip dunk.
Scottie Ebube Scottie Ebube 6'7" | C Mundelein | 2021 State #247 Nation IL (Mundelein – 2021)
Really good outing for the Southern Illinois commit. Ebube is one of the top centers in the senior class. He played very physical around the hoop going through an array of defenders for powerful finishes. Also showed some shake on a hook shot and had a sweet reverse layup off a baseline rip. High level rebounder in his area and runs the floor hard for a big man. Impact player in the MVC.
Landon Moore Landon Moore 7'5" | PG Bloomington | 2021 IN (Bloomington – 2021)
Moore is an uncommitted point guard that sometimes flies under the radar. Pushed it in transition with his passing, hit a spot up three, and had a crafty layup.
Walter Mattingly (Lake Forest – 2021)
Mattingly has great size and skill on the perimeter. Bit of a quiet game, but he did have an and-1 on a strong baseline take along with a dunk on a dump off.
Jalen Quinn Jalen Quinn 6'3" | PG Tuscola | 2022 State #136 Nation IL (Tuscola – 2022)
Quinn was fantastic in this game against older competition. The central Illinois point guard is electric with the ball in his hands with his creative finishes, euro steps, and shifty handles. His burst getting to the cup is excellent. Went coast to coast in transition several times. Also a solid spot up shooter that drilled a pair from the corner. Gets after it defensively as well often getting steals and taking them the other way for scores.
Jaden Schutt Jaden Schutt 6'5" | SG Yorkville Christian | 2022 State #42 Nation IL (Yorkville Christian – 2022)
Schutt is known as the best shooter in the state regardless of class. What I loved about this game was how big of an impact he had when he only made two threes. The junior shooting guard was excellent on the glass grabbing rebounds in traffic on both ends of the floor. Plays about the rim in transition. Was aggressive off the dribble where he finished at the cup. Showed well defensively including blocking a jumper. Also had a steal that he threw down the other end for a bucket. Much more than just a shooting specialist!
Braden Huff Braden Huff 6'11" | PF Glenbard West | 2022 State #58 Nation IL (Glenbard West – 2022)
This Glenbard West power forward was playing up an age level in the scrimmage. Thin forward will need to add strength, but his skill set is so intriguing. Plus shooter at 6’9” that drilled a spot up three and looked so smooth connecting on a pick/pop one. Got a bucket cutting through the lane and also took his man off the bounce with his left hand. Shot blocking presence defensively.
Cooper Noard Cooper Noard 6'2" | PG Glenbrook South | 2022 State IL (Glenbrook South – 2022)
Noard emerged last season during the high school season and has continued to make strides. Hit a corner three, got to the rim for a layup, and was good passing. Slick pick/pop assist along with a cross court dime.
Dylan Arnett Dylan Arnett 6'9" | PF DePaul Prep | 2022 State IL (DePaul Prep – 2022)
The DePaul Prep post really opened our eyes in the first set of scrimmages. He showed more flashes playing up an age level in this outing. Strong bodied power forward that ran the floor hard for a lob. Hit a couple threes off the catch and had a sweet turnaround fade away out of the post.
