Garwood’s Grassroots Great Performances

<p><strong>There were some outstanding basketball played this past weekend in the grassroots tournaments. This are six performances that stood out to me. These are my Garwood Grassroots Great Performances.</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814628" first="Lavell" last="Brodnex"]</strong> 2021 6-5 Saginaw</p> <p>Brodnex came to play in Indiana. He consistently attacked the rim and finished. He knocked his open shots. He created for his teammates. Defensively he did a good job with on ball pressure and he protected the rim</p> <p><strong>Jacob Carlson</strong> 2021 6-3 SG Grand Blanc</p> <p>Carlson put on an offensive display. Bombing away from the three point arc. Running the baseline for layup’s. Driving to the basket and finishing with layups or floaters. Nice job this weekend.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814587" first="Daion" last="Sheffield"]</strong> 2021 6-2 CG Taylor</p> <p>Sheffield had a weekend to remember by showing just how good of a player he is. He was knocking down his shots, finishing at the rim, and playing lockdown defense.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863935" first="Max" last="Burton"]</strong> 2022 6-9 SF Williamston</p> <p>Burton had an outstanding tournament playing for REACHNY2LA. Burton showed his ability to play inside and outside. He is definitely a stretch 4 and consistently knocked down the open three.</p> <p><strong>Eddison Millington</strong> 2023 6-3 SG Brighton</p> <p>Millington was going for highlight reels in Indiana. He was driving to the basketball and going up for dunks. This shows he is not afraid of contact. He is a tough point guard who knows how to play this game of basketball.</p> <p><strong>Jayden Wilson</strong> 2023  6-1 CG Detroit Cristo Rey</p> <p>Wilson hit the grassroots after a layoff and he didn’t miss a beat. I have watched how hard this young man works on his game. He will not be outworked. He showed his all-around game of hitting the open shot, slashing and cutting for layups, setting up his teammates and playing solid defense.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
