Getting to see one of the most electrifying players in the country compete night in and night out for the hometown program has Rebel fans ecstatic. His signing got me thinking, about some future local prospects that could have a major impact on the program. In this article we take a look at 5 players from future classes that I’d love to see stay home.
Milos Uzan Milos Uzan 6'4" | PG Dream City Christian | 2022 State #60 Nation AZ 6’3 PG Desert Pines 2022 (#1PHN 2022) – A Rebel fans dream backcourt, with the game moving more and more to small ball, the value of having multiple ballhandlers and playmakers on the floor, increases. The pinpoint passing of Uzan combined with the jaw dropping speed and athleticism of Collins seems like a highlight play waiting to happen.
Joshua Jefferson Joshua Jefferson 6'8" | PF Liberty | 2022 State #158 Nation NV 6’6 PF Liberty 2022 (#3PHN 2022) – I can see Jefferson becoming the type of college player that provides consistent production to a program for multiple years. I think he can be anywhere from a good glue guy, that provides low post defense and rebounding, with a ceiling of being a versatile scorer, who can handle, stretch the floor, or punish you on the block.
Sebastian Mack Sebastian Mack 6'4" | CG Coronado | 2023 State #58 Nation NV 6’1 CG Durango 2023 (#1PHN 2023) – Sebastian Mack Sebastian Mack 6'4" | CG Coronado | 2023 State #58 Nation NV has IT, and being able to watch “IT” from the comforts off my own backyard would be awesome. The number 1 player in our c/o 2023 rankings is a knock down shooter with unwavering confidence. Mack has big shot making ability perfectly suited for the college game. The vision of him silencing hostile road crowds with cold blooded dagger shots is simply to good to ignore.
Max Allen 6’8 PF Sierra Canyon 2022 – Technically Allen does not play locally, however before transferring out of the state he did attend powerhouse Bishop Gorman. Allen is a big bodied banger with surprisingly nimble feet, he is also one of the top bigs on the West Coast. He and Jefferson down low would provide a terrific 1-2 frontcourt punch for the Rebels.
DJ Thomas DJ Thomas 6'2" | PG Liberty | 2024 #19 Nation NV 5’11 PG Liberty 2024 (featured image) – While he has yet to play a high school game, the thought of DJ Thomas DJ Thomas 6'2" | PG Liberty | 2024 #19 Nation NV in scarlet and grey probably turns Rebel fans nostalgic. The son of former Rebel great Dedan Thomas, the younger Thomas has an amazing feel for the game, and the ability to raise the level of play of those around him. One of the top incoming freshmen in the nation, Thomas already has offers from LSU and the hometown Rebels.
