8/14 Southeastern PA Recruiting Updates

<p>The recruiting dominos are falling quickly for the Class of 2021 around Philly. In less than a month, 9 players from the region have named which universities they plan to attend next year.</p> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">COMMITMENTS</span></strong></p> <p>7/23 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990929" first="Jordan" last="Longino"]</strong> (Germantown Academy/Philly Pride): <em><strong>VILLANOVA</strong></em></p> <p>On the day people were expecting Jordan to name his stop list of schools, he announced his commitment to the Wildcats. He is their third commit behind Nnna Njoku and [player_tooltip player_id="850499" first="Trey" last="Patterson"]. [player_tooltip player_id="697111" first="Angelo" last="Brizzi"] joined the class just 4 days later. Current SG’s on the roster: Bryan Antoine, So; and [player_tooltip player_id="991202" first="Justin" last="Moore"], So. Other offers: Ohio State, Marquette, Florida, Maryland, La Salle, etc</p> <p>7/26 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990930" first="Rahsool" last="Diggins"] </strong>(Archbishop Wood/Team Final): <em><strong>UCONN</strong></em></p> <p>Sool brought his highly anticipated recruitment to an end by choosing Dan Hurley’s UCONN Huskies. He’s the first to join the Husky class, who’ve since added pledges from SG Jordan Hawkins and PF Samson Johnson. Current PG/CG’s on the roster: RJ Cole, RS Jr; and Jalen Gaffney, So. Other schools considered: DePaul, Kansas, Miami, Villanova, and more.</p> <p>8/2 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990931" first="Gabe" last="Dorsey"] </strong>(Hill School/Team Durant): <em><strong>VANDERBILT</strong></em></p> <p>Also known as "Flame Thrower," Dorsey cast his lot in with the Commodores. He’s Jerry Stackhouse’s second commitment in c/o 2021 after [player_tooltip player_id="869578" first="Peyton" last="Daniels"]. Current SG’s on the roster: Jordan Wright, So. Other schools considered: Penn St, Wake, Harvard, Miami, Xavier, Providence &amp; Virginia Tech. </p> <p>8/5 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990935" first="Stevie" last="Mitchell"]</strong> (Wilson/Philly Pride): <em><strong>MARQUETTE</strong></em></p> <p>The highly coveted guard from Reading, Pa revealed his plans to play for Coach Wojciechowski and the Golden Eagles. Stevie joined [player_tooltip player_id="775537" first="Kameron" last="Jones"] in Marquette’s 2021 backcourt. Current PG’s on the roster: Koby McEwen, RS Sr; [player_tooltip player_id="766066" first="Symir" last="Torrence"], So; DJ Carton, So; and Dexter Akano, RS Fr. Other schools considered: Stanford, Villanova, Georgia Tech, Temple, SJU &amp; Miami.</p> <p>8/7 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990937" first="Hysier" last="Miller"]</strong> (Neumann-Goretti/Team Final): <em><strong>TEMPLE</strong></em></p> <p>"Fabb" took the PCL by storm as a junior. So it’s no surprise that he’s kicking off his senior season with his commitment to TU. He is a crucial piece for Aaron McKie and his coaching staff as they turn the program around. Current PG’s on the roster: Tai Strickland, RS So. Other schools considered: ECU, Penn St, Drexel, Wagner, Hofstra &amp; Rider.</p> <p>8/9 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990928" first="Jalen" last="Warley"]</strong> (Westtown/Team Durant): <em><strong>FLORIDA STATE</strong></em></p> <p>The 2021 PGs and CGs were coming off the board quickly, yet Coach Leonard Hamilton landed one of the best in the country. Jalen is now the highest rated recruit in FSU’s class. Current PG/CG’s on the roster: Rayquan Evans, Sr; and MJ Walker, Sr. Other schools considered: Michigan, Virginia, Oregon, Miami &amp; Memphis.</p> <p>8/12 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990960" first="Philip" last="Byriel"] </strong>(Perkiomen): <strong><em>PRINCETON</em></strong></p> <p>A surprise commitment on Wednesday afternoon, Philip revealed his intentions to stay close to home and play for the Tigers. He’s the third commit for Princeton in 2021. Current PF’s on the roster: Jerome Desrosiers, Sr; Elijah Barnes, Sr; Keeshawn Kellman, So, and [player_tooltip player_id="850327" first="Zach" last="Martini"], Fr. Other schools considered: Boston Univ, Lafayette, Penn &amp; Bucknell.</p> <p>8/14 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990940" first="Daeshon" last="Shepherd"]</strong> (Archbishop Wood/Team Final): <em><strong>LA SALLE</strong></em></p> <p>He was being recruited by half the Atlantic 10 conference, but it’s the Explorers who land the 3 &amp; D Wing. Daeshon is Coach Ash Howard’s first commit of the 2021 class. Current SF’s on the roster: N/A. Other schools considered: St Joe’s, Richmond, GW, Towson, Temple, Siena &amp; more.</p> <p>8/14 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990948" first="Rahdir" last="Hicks"]</strong> (Malvern Prep/Philly Pride): <em><strong>TOWSON</strong></em></p> <p>Another surprise Friday afternoon, Rahdir announced his intentions to play for the Tigers and Coach Pat Skerry. He’s the second to pledge his commitment to the program, alongside fellow PG Tyler Gill. Current PG’s on the roster: Cam Allen, RS Sr; Jekigh Dottin, Jr; and Jason Gibson, Fr. Other offer: George Washington.</p>
