Here were some of the top players from Saturday play:
Deonte Martinez, ECI Prospects
Martinez gives this ECI team some juice. The Minot point guard is one of the best in North Dakota at breaking down defenders, getting into the paint and finishing with either a floater or a fallaway jumper. He did a great job controlling the tempo Saturday and his ability to put pressure on opposing ballhandlers spearheaded a strong team defensive showing.
Tyler Feldcamp, Schoolers Robey
Feldcamp is a big, strong, explosive athlete and he makes a lot of things happen. He’s active on the defensive end of the floor and can defend all perimeter positions. He rebounds well for an undersized guy and gets into the paint at will.
Caleb Duffield, ND Attack
Duffield showed how quickly he can change a game Saturday for ND Attack, knocking down four 3-pointers in one half of one of their games. He’s a strong combo guard who can heat up from distance, but also does a good job attacking the paint and making plays. He’s a competitive perimeter defender and the more chemistry he gains with his current teammates, the easier the game looks for him.
Jayce Lowman, ND Attack
Lowman is the definition of solid. He shoots it well, defends just about anybody, rebounds, makes good decisions and can make plays. He showed all of that Saturday for ND Attack, consistently knocking down open 3-pointers, beating people off the dribble and making plays for teammates and applying excellent perimeter defense no matter his counterpart.
Tristin Davis, ND Phenom
Davis looked excellent Saturday for ND Phenom. He’s a big guard who does a good job attacking the mid-range, can pull up on smaller guards or get to the rim and finish, and he’s an adept playmaker in close quarters. His size is an asset on the defensive end where he can harass smaller ballhandlers and his ability to rebound has always been a strength.
Jase Crockett, ECI Selects
Crockett can fill it up in very little time and he showed he’s capable of piling up points in a hurry on numerous occasions Saturday. He’s not the tallest guy, but his strength is an asset on both ends of the floor, as he’s comfortable bodying defenders or opposing ballhandlers.
Kolby Vanderwol, ND Attack
Vanderwol is an intriguing player given his length and ability to play a simple game. He’s a long, athletic wing who can guard up or down a lineup and does a great job contesting shots and pressuring the passing lanes on the wing. He’s a good passer who sees the floor well and can get out in transition and get to the rim.
