Here were some of the top 15Us from the weekend
Ryan Erickson, ND Phenom
Erikson is one of the top prospects in North Dakota’s 2023 class and he showed a lot of promising signs over the weekend playing at two different age levels for ND Phenom. The Bismarck Century big man played with the 16U and 15U teams, and showed he can score and rebound at a high level against good competition. His footwork and patience in the post is advanced, he’s got good touch in the mid-range and he’s comfortable creating his own shot against quality bigs. He’s got a little work to do when it comes to limiting touches inside, but his length allows him to protect the rim well, and he’s very good rebounding his area.
Jaxon Kellogg, ND Phenom
Kellogg plays on both the 15U and 16U Phenom teams as well, and he had his share of good moments with both teams. He’s a well-schooled guard who can shoot it, make plays off the dribble for himself and his teammates, and defend multiple guys. He’s smart defensively and does a good job being in solid guarding position on and off the ball, and he has enough burst to limit dribble penetration and contest shots.
Alex Dvorak, ND Attack
Dvorak was a bright spot for ND Attack with his ability to handle defensive pressure, breaks down primary defenders and get to the rim. His patience and ability to probe pick and roll actions resulted in a lot of either easy jumpers for him, or easy shots for his teammates. And his competitiveness defensively on the ball was excellent.
Will Mayo, ND Attack Blue
Mayo is an impressive presence on the interior. The Des Lacs Burlington big man is strong in the long post and has a soft touch to go with great strength on low-box touches. He’s active on both ends of the floor hitting the glass and he creates opportunities for himself thanks to a hot motor.
Josh Moser, ND Attack Green
Moser is an intriguing wing prospect from Medina who looked really good as a cutter, in transition and defensively. He’s an athletic kid who rebounds both ends of the floor and does a great job using his length to disrupt offensive players both on and off the ball.
Darik Dissette, ND Attack Green
Dissette is an interesting prospect out of Minot and looked excellent over the weekend. He’s a big wing who can make plays at a high level for himself or his teammates. He’s a solid decision-maker and does a great job initiating contact on drives and he’s a solid finisher inside. And he’s a solid defender who uses his length to his advantage disrupting offensive players.
Raymond Brown, ECI Prospects
Brown didn’t take long to stand out over the weekend, as he’s one of the most explosive and impactful two-way guards from the weekend. The Fargo Davies product is an active defender on and off the ball and put a lot of pressure on opposing ballhandlers. He’s explosive off the bounce and scored frequently with a good pull up jumper and the ability to finish in traffic.
Isaac Fitz, ECI Selects Schafer
Fitz was good on both ends of the floor over the weekend. The West Fargo guard is small, but he’s tough as nails and has really active hands on the defensive end of the floor. He was a deflections machine and does a great job limiting penetration. He’s an excellent shooter both in spot-up situations and off the dribble.
