This is my in-depth scouting report on the standout guards at the Prep Hoops Midwest Grind Session. These were the players that caught my eye from Kansas. This tournament was a fantastic showcase of all of the talent in the area, many of which will receive a major uptick in recruiting! Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage from this event!

[player_tooltip player_id="889490" first="Kaleb" last="Gaddis"] 2021 6’1 Team Buddy Buckets Kansas Gaddis- Andover High School

Kaleb is an incredible playmaker, his court vision and awareness and ability to create for others unlocks his team’s potential. His ability to shoot the rock, and attack the rim allows him to put pressure on the defense in a multitude of ways. Look for his stock to improve after an impressive showing this weekend, really showing off his ability to dominate the game.

Haydon Mead 2021 5’9 365 Hoops Elite- Eureka High School

Haydon is a great shooter, who takes smart shots within the offense. I was blown away with his shooting touch all around the court. He is a true three-level scorer. He is a crafty and intelligent player who loves to get by defenders with simple head fakes when they come to close out hard on him. I would like to see more relentlessness when he drives to the rim to really round out his game.

[player_tooltip player_id="946204" first="Blake" last="Chadwick"] 2021 6’0 Wichita Padres- Derby High School

Blake is an intelligent point guard who creates well for his teammates. He is great at getting downhill and getting by his defenders and then hitting his shooters for easy kick out opportunities. I would like to see him to get better with his pull up jumper and fearlessness around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="868128" first="Christian" last="Williams"] 2021 6’2 Team Perry Ellis PE34 17U- Trinity Academy Kansas

[player_tooltip player_id="868128" first="Christian" last="Williams"] was a stand out ball-handler he displayed great ability to break down his defender and get by them. He was a confident player yet played with great tempo and slowed the game down and seemed to see the floor very well. He always seemed to fire the right passes to his teammates and was exemplary at getting tight passes into the paint.
