As we continue our Positional Breakdown series, we take a look at several unknown and new Big’s set to rise in their positional rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="1009947" first="Evan" last="Tatum"] 6’3 PF Desert Pines 2023 - Tatum is a monster down low. He has long arms, a solid frame and good footwork. He also has a rapidly developing post game. Playing for a loaded DP squad didn’t provide him much opportunity to showcase his talent against Varsity competition, however he is part of a solid young core for the Jaguars, and he certainly has the skills to warrant rising.

Tommy Brascia 6’6 PF Durango 2023 - Brascia is a California import, that should have a huge impact for the Trailblazers next season. Good athlete, with a relentless motor, Brascia should provide rim protection, rebounding and low post scoring. Left off the original power forward rankings because of his transfer, expect him to make an appearance in the next one.

Chase Jackson 6’7 C Centennial 2023 - I expect Jackson to rise based on his length and size alone. He is still raw offensively, however he provides rim protection and lane clogging ability right now. If Jackson develops his post game over the summer, and receives consistent minutes for the Bulldogs during the season, look for him to rise.

[player_tooltip player_id="1006755" first="Colson" last="Madruga"] 6’5 PF Lake Mead Christian Academy 2022 - Madruga is a good looking 4 man that can step out and space the floor to 15. He missed all of last season with a leg injury, and his return should really help the Eagles. Size is going to be at a premium especially at the 2A level, so if Madruga can produce at a high level, expect him to rise.

[player_tooltip player_id="998503" first="Alexander" last="Ruggeroli"] 6’6 Bishop Gorman 2024 - Expectations are high for the two sports star. He has terrific size for a young player and a nice go to post move, left shoulder right hand. Like any young big, he has tons of things he has to improve, including his hands and adding a counter to his go to. If he does add these things, watch out, Ruggeroli could be on the rise!
