The NC Class of 2021 has been the group that has probably been impacted the most by the coronavirus with grassroots basketball being cut short. With that being said, there are a few prospects that we feel can have a big time senior season and take the “next step” which would open up their recruitment.

Laney HS Guard Makoa Suriago: If you have been paying attention to social media, you have seen him putting in a ton of work during the off-season. He’s gotten his body right and has taken advantage of the time to sharpen his overall skillset. We fully expect him to be called on to produce next season at Laney HS and we are confident that he’s going to do well.

Middle Creek HS Wing [player_tooltip player_id="838046" first="Sam" last="Perez"]: The 6’7 Wing hasn’t seen his recruitment blow up as much as we thought it would at this point but it’s only a matter of time. He has a nice overall skillset and is automatic from three point range. Anytime that you have a player that has his combination of size and skill, you will have college coaches that are very interested.

Southern Durham HS Guard [player_tooltip player_id="932136" first="Quentin" last="Richardson"]: One of the fastest players in the area on the court, he thrives in a system where he can push the tempo for his team. This past high school season he played a big role for his team, making plays for others and playing outstanding defense consistently.

Washington HS Guard [player_tooltip player_id="574470" first="Omarion" last="Blount"]: One of the more underrated prospects in the state, Blount will have his chance to lead his squad this season at WHS. He brings a business like approach to the court with his scoring and how well he can finish through contact. Last Fall at the ENC FAB 40 Camp, he showed his ability against some of the top Juniors and Seniors in the state.

Trinity Christian Forward [player_tooltip player_id="838058" first="Robert" last="Wright"] Jr: If TCS hopes to have a successful season, they will need a big time showing from Robert throughout the year. This past season we got to see some flashes of how good he can possibly be, he plays the game in a physical manner inside the paint but can also step outside and knock down shots. Defensively he’s constantly working for rebounds, blocking shots and battling inside against bigs.
