Sunday was a great day of games to finish up the second annual Havoc in the Heartland event in Indianapolis. Tons of great, close games with some top players from Indiana making an impact. Here are the 10 guys who stood out on Sunday.

Tyler Vanderwoude - 6’5 SF 2021 - Chesterton (IN) / Indiana Game Select 2021

Tyler is a big, strong wing forward that has versatility for some small school programs. His ability to play on the wing and shoot while having a solid and strong frame. Think he could play some four-man when needed as he showed solid rebounding ability and toughness. Really like when he goes hard in transition because he can have more ease to finishing than most. Shoots it well enough to be a player to that can have offense while being defensively versatile.

[player_tooltip player_id="874185" first="Logan" last="Van Essen"] - 6’0 PG 2021 - Illiana Christian (IN) / Indiana Game Select 2021

Logan is a tough, physical guard who can rip off shots. He’s really well built and can get into defenders when he needs to. Best coming and pulling up quick in the half court and transition or off screens. Squares up well and can really do a number if left open. Handles are good and with his frame, you can’t bully him or speed him up a ton. Very consistent and steady.

[player_tooltip player_id="874140" first="Flynn" last="Carlson"] - 6’7 PF 2021 - Victory Christian (IN) / Indiana Game Select 2021

Flynn played well on Sunday being aggressive in transition and attacking the rim. He’s the type of guy that is going to have the comfort on the perimeter so more often this weekend I saw him trying to catch and beat his man in the lane to finish. He’s really good finishing with length when he attacks. Not going to beat you with strength but speed and length play into his game really well. For small school programs, he can play the four-man spot pretty well with upside as he shooting becomes a bigger part of his game.

Isaiah Lockhard - 6’1 SG 2021 - Indianapolis Manual (IN) / Indy EBC 2021

Lockhard is a strong guard with some great athleticism and explosiveness. He’s got good speed and handles but might look more like a combo guard where he can get moving and play up his athleticism. He can drive and get in the lane pretty well and the jumper mechanics look good. Looks pretty balanced in the game I saw. Will need to get another look at him.

Kobe Ward - 6’3 SF 2021 - Danville (IN) / Men of the Family 2021

Kobe is an interesting player who could be a big time producer at the next level. While he’s only 6’3 or so, he’s kind of a mix-and-match forward. You can use him in so many ways whether it is posting him up as he uses his strength, having him slash from the wing and catch which he does pretty well, or play in transition. He’s more comfortable inside the arc than on the outside but if he can balance his game out more, small school programs are going to have endless ways to use him.

[player_tooltip player_id="870293" first="Drew" last="Adzia"] - 5’9 PG 2022 - Crown Point (IN) / Indiana Game Select 2022

Drew is a smaller guard but packs a punch. He’s really quick and pretty smart with the game that he is always finding a way to make plays. Best when he gets in the lane because he can kick it or finish creatively. Solid shooter with time and doesn’t just have to be a pass-first guy if he doesn’t want to. About as consistent as you can ask for.

[player_tooltip player_id="868239" first="Cooper" last="Farrall"] - 6’5 SF 2023 - Culver Academies (IN) / Indiana Game Select 2023

Cooper has been really consistent every time I have watched him. He’s a big, strong wing that has a great jumper and can use it from deep or mid-range. Best off the bounce. Handles is so well for his position and has so much strength at this age that he can get wherever he wants on the floor and it also helps him be an impact rebounder.

[player_tooltip player_id="868229" first="Myles" last="Colvin"] - 6’3 SG 2023 - Heritage Christian (IN) / Indy Nets 2023

Myles is a tough, physical guard that can really be tough to defend at times. Myles has a solid jumper but will need to get his feet set more often as he does most of his work off of feel. Really good at getting north and south and slips through defenses well at times. Defensively, he’s going to be pretty good on shooters and should be a high level rebounder for his position.

[player_tooltip player_id="870295" first="Logan" last="McIntire"] - 6’5 SF 2022 - North Harrison (IN) / D1 Indiana 2022

Logan has gained some real size but has left his frame pretty thin for the time being. He should grow into it but will be a lean, wiry wing player. Really great length for his position and has the ability to shoot over defenders quite well. He’s great moving off the ball and can find his open spots well. Has some bounce but is more of a break-you-down to shoot type of guard. Has made strides in the last year and could be interesting to watch in the next year.

[player_tooltip player_id="868234" first="Myles" last="Stringer"] - 6’1 PG 2023 - Fishers (IN) / D1 Indiana 2022

Myles played as well as I had seen him before rolling his ankle in the first half. He was really great putting his head down and driving. It forced him to be aggressive and when he got to the rim he could create distance with his body to finish. Had a great stretch scoring 7 points in a couple minutes with a hard right-hand drive, runner, and a catch-and-shoot three. More stretches like that would help to show the direction of his game.
