After going 3-0 in Appleton at the #HardWorkSZN Kickoff, Prep Hoops Wisconsin uses BallerTV to go back and rewatch each of the ABC Young Lions’ three games.

Prospect Standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id="804902" first="Jayden" last="Jackson"] -- SG -- 2021

Jackson did a great job playing the point guard position for ABC at the #HardWorkSZN Kickoff. He rarely turns the ball over and takes very good shots. Jackson -- who is also a great football player -- is one of the best scorers in Wisconsin’s 2021 class. He can shoot well from the outside while also using his strength and athleticism to finish at the rim. The Whitefish Bay star may end up playing football in college, but he is also a Division 1 basketball recruit.

[player_tooltip player_id="963676" first="Alex" last="Singleton"] -- F -- 2021

Singleton had a really great weekend for ABC. The forward’s great play is one of the main reasons that the Young Lions were able to go undefeated in Appleton. His energy and will to win gave his squad a huge boost. The forward was particularly impressive in the paint. He did a terrific job of rebounding and finishing through contact at the rim. Singleton is a prospect that D3 and D2 college programs are going to be all over by the end of the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="804923" first="Sam" last="Hytinen"] -- SG -- 2021

Hytinen is going to be an important prospect for Arrowhead in the upcoming season. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard is an underrated scorer who played really well for ABC in Appleton. In his junior season, Hytinen scored 12.1 points per game, helping Arrowhead to a 23-2 record. With the departure of [player_tooltip player_id="544505" first="Carter" last="Gilmore"], the SG is ready to take on a much bigger role in the 2020-21 high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id="701998" first="Donald" last="McHenry"] -- CG -- 2021

When his team needed him to step up, McHenry was at his best. In the final game of the weekend, the combo guard scored an important 13 points to help the Young Lions to a win over Waterloo Salvation. The shifty combo guard has great length, which he can use to finish around the rim. McHenry scored 21.1 points per game as a junior at Milwaukee Academy of Science.

Game Recaps:

ABC Young Lions Black vs. Illinois TWolves

In their first game of the weekend, ABC fought hard to get a win over a solid Illinois TWolves squad. The first half went back and forth. At the conclusion of the first 25 minutes of play, the Young Lions held a 28-24 lead. The TWolves then started the second half strong, gaining a 32-30 lead. Highlighted by a big put-back dunk by Jackson, ABC was able to gain momentum and eventually held on for the victory.

ABC Young Lions Black vs. Wisconsin Blizzard Leland

This was a game that was close for most of the first period. With around seven minutes left in the first half, the Young Lions held a 26-23 lead. Then, thanks to some aggressive defense and great transition offense, ABC went on a run and earned a 47-29 lead. The Young Lions continued to shoot the ball very well in the second 25 minutes. They ended up getting a 97-55 win.

ABC Young Lions Black vs. Waterloo Salvation

In ABC’s final win of the weekend, the game was a lot closer than the final score would suggest. After the Young Lions jumped out to a big lead, Waterloo Salvation came back to take a 46-43 lead in the second half. But, led by some great play from Singleton and McHenry, ABC took over the rest of the game to win 73-59.
