Grassroots Season Preview: Indy Heat Red 2021

<p>With hope and anticipation of the start of the AAU season, we begin our look at some of the top AAU teams in the state. Over the next few weeks, we will spotlight teams and some of the top players to watch. Today, we are looking at Indy Heat Red 2021.</p>

<p><strong>One Player To Watch: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id="647205" first="Naylon" last="Thompson"]</p>
<p>Naylon is a taller guard that can play both the 1 and the 2, but he has been the primary ball-handler for his high school and grassroots teams. He has enough handles to be on ball, and he is a good passer that knows how to limit his turnovers. He knows how to use his size to his advantage, so he can drive on almost anyone who guards him. He can also shoot it at a decent rate. With his scoring ability and size, he is going to be a tough matchup for many teams during the AAU season, so he is going to be a must-watch throughout the course of the summer.</p>
<p><strong>One Player We Need To See More: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id="783233" first="Jack" last="Futa"]</p>
<p>We haven’t seen Jack a lot, but the times that we have seen him, he has seemed to have a big impact on the game. He has good ball-handling ability, but he does favor his right hand often. He can get to the rim really well going to his right, and he knows how to use his size to get mismatches against the smaller defenders. He has shown many bright spots in his game, so we just need to see him play a little bit more to get a better grasp on his ceiling. He could definitely be a breakout candidate for the Indy Heat Red this summer.</p>
<p><strong>One Player That Should Surprise: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id="569345" first="Zane" last="Burke"]</p>
<p>Zane has shown that he can create his shot and score with the best of them. He played more on the ball during the high school season which has allowed him to be a little more comfortable in that role. He has always been more of a shooter than a driver, but when he is matched up against a slower defender, he can make some really good moves. With his newfound confidence on the ball, he is going to surprise people with just his ability to create and score the ball. He definitely has a chance to raise his stock in a big way.</p>
